General Ye ye green anyone?

Completely agree with you. I have started to notice these Beetles in this lovely colour recently. Absolutely the whole point of the Fiat 500 is its retro charm. Those pastelly muddyish colours totally suit it and more importantly look refreshingly different to all the other car colours out there. I never in my life stared open-mouthed at a car until the fateful day that I spyed a drop dead gorgeous Ye ye green one in Sainsbury's car park! I tiptoed up to it and stared adoringly into its interior – meanwhile a queue was forming behind me and a excitable hubub of admiration echoed round the carpark.

I would never dream of buying a brand new car if it wasn't for the new 500. This has brought to FIAT a load of new people who weren't previously into cars in a big way, Fiat should be making the most of that instead of pandering to the boring types who let their husbands/wives decide what colour they should get and then factor in the depreciation. ;)

No big stripes, checkers or anything,
Just green and a full length sunroof (y)

You can't get a Abarth 500 in Ye Ye Green?! They stopped doing it on the F500 a while a go as well...

Congratulations. My wife has a green car which is worth about a grand at most, don't hear me bleating on about it for no reason :) I also had a green 406 as well so you're not the only person who's owned 2 green cars.

Do you want a medal or something? :)

I've also owned two green cars at the same time - can I have a medal?:D

Unless he is getting it re-sprayed by the dealership before he takes delivery, has paid Abarth an exorbitant amount of money for a custom paint-job, or lives in a country other than the UK where Ye Ye Green is available on the Abarth, no he hasn't.

Special order paint from Fiat £1500
It looks the dogs ******cks without all the usual Abarth paraphernalia.(y)

can we have a picture? I would love to see that.
I emailed fiat to ask if they could do ye ye green as a special order on my soon to arrive 500pop and they said no.

Like I said, exorbitant

Why anyone would want to waste £1,500 (as that is what he has done, as it will be worth not one penny more than an 'official' colour come resale time) making an Abarth 500 look like a 1950's fridge I have no idea :(

But, each to his/her own I guess... It's no my money being squandered.

That is odd, as there is a special order colour option on the ordering system.

I have never used it, so don't know if it actually works or not, but it's there nonetheless.

Well I'm sure the salesperson took a cut :D

Generally commission is paid at a flat rate on new cars, so they don't earn any more the more expensive the car is.
Yeah but surely the salesperson deserves a bonus for squeezing £1500 out of someone for as you say, making their Abarth look like an old fridge.

Artists impression! :p

Well a French guy wanted his dream Abarth 500 in Cha Cha Azure, and as Abarth would not paint it that colour at the factory, it was infact repainted by the dealership upon arrival along with a retrim of the interior.

I'm sorry but I am sceptical a Abarth 500 in Ye Ye (a deleted colour) exists from the factory.

The factory obviously produce in batches of colours, hence why with the initial early orders people were making, black A500's were taking the longest to arrive, so to do a random colour inbetween would not make sense.

As he now has the car a photo would obvouisly prove me wrong, which would be nice.

So what would the 'Special colour' ordering option be for then?

If it is true then is seems odd they turned down 2 of us when they potentially (£1500 is a bit steep!) could have got so much more money off us...

Yep a pic would be nice (and I do like YeYe, although maybe not on an Abarth)

I would imagine it is for things like the recent deal with BSM, where they want their batch of cars in a particular colour not available to everyone else.

I've been with Fiat over 2 years now, and not heard or read anything about individuals being able to place special orders for colours not on general availability.

Fiat UK centrally order cars for various reasons, and use the same system as the dealer network when they do so, so maybe that option is only available to them.
