surely its a new icon, its bound to be around! theyll just make it quieter, better riding and put those new engines in it :ROFLMAO: must say Id be tempted by the ye ye green if i bought another, but im hoping to keep mine til its a classic collectors item and it actually starts to go up in value! hehe

Hi Tom,

I own a 1.2 Lounge & have covered 11,000 miles in just over 8
months. It's been 100% reliable, with no rattles at all. The fixed
glass roof is excellent too & is just as quiet as the full steel roof
models.
The most impressive point has been the economy. I often get well
in excess of 60 mpg on a run (A roads) & around 55 mpg from motorway driving.
I'm sure you won't regret buying one !!

And the panda made a comeback didn't it ...... my old one was a 1989 ..... they came back in 2003 ... when did they stop producing the original version (excuse my lack of fiat knowledge on this).

They stopped making the original Panda in 2003 when the new one came out, apparently loads of people wrote to Fiat and complained when they stopped the original too.

Ok so i drove the 500 again today and the Ka and to be honest preferred the 500,granted its a bit bouncy over speed humps which made me laugh a bit. The Ka is very firm and sort of crashes over potholes or ruts in the road, not as supple ride as the 500 and the ebgine noise is horrendous,it sound like a boeing 747 in the cabin! Plus the interior looks like Stevie Wonder had put it together, really odd shapes everywhere and that glovebox just looks daft!

Anyway was out in the 500 for about an hour, nearly forgot to take it back.

Couple of niggles tho,i'm worried that on longer journeys my right leg will start to ache as when fully relaxed,my foot is basically on the side of the accelorator pedal and i have to keep moving my leg and holding it in that position to get a good position on the pedal, does that make sense? I'm wondering if the sport leather seats will help with that as the side bits will support my leg in a better position??The dealer told me that the leather seats are sports style,i want leather because i dont like the check fabric on the lounge model. Ideally i'd like just fabric sport seats but have to buy the sport model to get this and really think the lounge is better value with the glass roof and chrome etc.

Also i find the road noise a little unbearable on the dual carriageway/motorway,its louder than i expected,i drove a pop model, will the lounge be the same??

Finally do you think i should haggle for some kind of discount as the car i want is 11200 with all the extras and feel thats quite expensive.
Has anyone on here been successful with getting money off?

Thanks for your help

Tom

p.s also the dealer told me the sub for the interscope is fitted under the drivers seat! was hoping it would've been under the passengers seat,i dont want to be bouncing to every thump of that too!!!!:p

Fiat did make it very clear that the 500 was not to be discounted as a new car under any circumstances. But that was exactly a year ago, so it might have changed since them.

The leather seats are very, very comfy - they seem to hold me in line with the rest of the controls. The demo I drove was also a sport, but without the leather. These seats were great too.

I have sat in a lounge (not drive one though) & didn't like the leg support from the standard seats, so you may be right.

Re value, I guess it's just what you prefer. I looked at all three trim levels, knowing I wanted leather anyway. To get the car I wanted the sport was the best option (& I prefer the dials in thesport too). Everyone has their own ideal set-up though..

I tried to haggle on mine last week, they wouldn't even budge on throwing any car mats in!

Exactly right. my own preference was for the sport but I wanted the glass roof, std on the lounge plus a few other bits and that is why I think the configurator is one of the most useful tools around.

As the Borg might say "your uniqueness will be added to the 500 collective". (y)
