Well, our 500 is 1 year old on Monday, so it's time to book its first service.

We've done 11,000 miles and it has been completely fault-free. (y)

I understand the servicing price is fixed - can anyone confirm that, and what price it should be?

Fiat themselves offer various flavours of fixed price servicing plans. The plans and prices can be found at
http://www.fiat.co.uk/Content/?id=2346

Dealers also offer servicing (to the 500 schedule and using Fiat parts to maintain warrranty). These are often cheaper but you will need to contact dealers to get thier costs! Im expecting £100-150 for a 1st service.

There is also a low milage service schedule but I'm not sure all dealers will be offering this.

Hopefully when enough of us have had one the costs can be posted in the sticky link at the top of the 500 section.

Like most questions involving cars it never results in a simple answer or one price !

Thanks Jake.

I have been quoted £191 and £210 by two separate dealers. I guess that's the ball park.

I'm not sure about buying multiple services in advance, as residuals are still high and we might sell ours to get an Abarth SS.

just had first service done today - oil + filter, fuel filter, pollen filter and checks - £125. It pays to go away from the city! I also used my Fiat vouchers which made it a really cheap service.

Going by the service menu on the dash it shouldn't need looking at until 18K are you sure your not going in a little early?

That really is very reasonable indeed.

It certainly is reasonable, just an oil and filter change cost me £97.50. (n)

The reason I had the car serviced was because I got a warning message on the dash saying Change engine oil. Car has done 13k and is 11 months old. Although in the menu under service it says a service is due at nearly 18k. That should be in another 4-5 months!!

Thats mad, even assuming normal dealer con of charging by the litre when they buy it in massive drums, at say £40 for oil and £8 for filter, thats a lot of labour to change oil.

Not really, depending on car I have seen a profit as low as £11 made on a service.

I take it your 500 is a 1.3MJ?

At least you got up to a decent mileage before your warning message appeared, mine came on at 3500 miles.

1.3 MJ first service, low mileage was £115 at Research in Nuneaton. CMC in Coventry wanted £145....shop around!

Been quoted £238 for a 1.2 Sport 1st service.

Hmm!!

If its gotta be done then its gotta be done:)

Si

Not a good omen for me!! I have the same model and STILL waiting from two dealers about their servicing plans. After sales care really needs shaking up in my opinion.

The first service isn't due until late May though. But I like to be well prepared.

Interesting. My 1.4 lounge goes in to Ancaster at Catford on Monday for her first service. She has 17,500 miles on the clock at the moment. It'll be a full service. I'll post back what the damage is. I'm thinking something in the region of £300-350. Anyone want to take bets? :D

1.4 is cheaper to service than the 1.2 apparently.

I was quoted £238 for an 18,000/1 year service for my 1.2

My friends car at the same garage would have been £218 for his 1.4

Shouldent be any more than this as it covers up to 18,000 miles, unless your dealer has higher labour rates.

Si
