Hi, just a quick question about about chip tuning boxes.

Has anyone fitted one of these to theyre 500 multijet, and what was it like power economy etc?

YES YES YES i know that re maps are better etc etc etc but i have my reasons for fitting a removable tuning box and i have had several in the past and fitted to various vehicles and NEVER had a problem. (y)

many thanks:)

I think you mostly answered your own question and you are looking for some comfort factor really. If your experience with tuning boxes is good go for it. Its your car after all! (y)

yeah i see what you mean, what i should have really added was that the power output and fuel economy varied with the different vehicles, i.e some vehicles respond better than others to chip boxes.:)

Same with a re-map really but if your car is company owned I see why you need a removeable solution. Totally happy with my Red Dot remap, as you probably already know Red Dot do a before and after Rolling Road run to let you see the results of your chosen level of tuning. My car is better for economy unless I use the extra power continually, then it is slightly worse than original. My car was generating 144BHP at the flywheel prior to the map being done at 32,000 miles so the jump to 193BHP isnt as much as might be imagined but the driveability improvement is phenominal and I have now covered 41,000 miles no problems.
Diesel tuning is more about torque, which I now have in abundance but I use it sparingly.

Just fitted a bhpplus box on wifes 500 multijet much better to drive and quicker on acceleration and ave mpg gone up from 51.6 to 58 mpg cost 300 quid i fitted it in 15mins also comes with a remote so you can turn it on or off from drivers seat and they will remap the box for £10 if you change car. wonder what happens to a ecu remap(as opposed to a tuning box) when the dpf ecu update is done?

my 500 is remapped www. ziptuning .be and it is much better.
i have tested it but the results are very weard. i now have 72 bhp on the weels and torq 146.
these are actually the values that fiat says as normal values for the fiat 500 1,3mj

sorry for this bad language
