My 500 had its first service last week and since then the hill holder failure warning light has come on five times. Having fallen out with the dealer I am really loathe to take it straight back. Has anyone else has this problem? Do I have to take it 'straight to dealer' or is there another solution? And if it has to go to a dealer can anyone recommend a Fiat dealer in Surrey?

We bought a 18 month GP a couple of months ago looking through service history it had its ECU changed after the first service due to the same problem. So I would suspect that it may be an ECU needed, I would be getting it back to the dealer!

hi i have a 54 plate punto and the hill holder failed, problem was the reverse light switch on the gear box. wire had broken probably not your problem but my guess is that if your reverse light bulb is blown it may also cause this problem, an easy check and a money saver if it works. ive never found accelerator and brake at the same time would cause a problem
