General Software update

I've had my Doblo for nearly six years now and I always wait for all the lights to go out before I start it. This booting up pause gives the engine software time to settle before the shock of the starter surge. I wonder if this short wait isn't good policy with all modern engines, Diesel and petrol?

Interesting this.

My 1.2 Lounge starts ok, but I won't say it starts as well as a new car should. I just seem to leave the key turned slightly longer on the Starter Motor to ensure it fires up ok.

Mine does the exact same in very cold mornings I'm not due a service for a few months yet however.

It's interesting that a software patch can fix the cold start issue, and maybe improve the performance of the car somewhat. Do you reckon they will do this when a car gets a service? Mine's going in fairly soon, nearly been a year..! It would be nice if I didn't have to switch down to third at 40-50mph just to get up a hill :)

I haven't had much of this cold start issue people have been discussing however, it has only once not started first, and I think it was my fault for just not holding the starter motor on long enough, (it was cold, my hand slipped off the key).

Anywho, any 1.2 owners who have had a service notice anything different, or told anything different about software?

as I said earlier it does not & all cases should be treated individually, poor starting could be caused by a number of reasons.

End of the day its not up to the customer to 'demand' what gets done to his/her car as their are set procedures to be carried out & the dealer has to follow these during the cars warranty period at least.

My 1.4 lounge went in last week for a service and they tell me it had an update to the software. Nothing noticeable but then I didn't really have an issue before.
