Bumped my car into a big stone block yesterday !! The right side below the door got damaged. I will have to drive down to Delhi to get it fixed will get it done only next year (January).

I was taking a U turn and didn't realise that these was a broken piece of the road divider was lying there !! Ohhh I was so pissed, even hammered my bro a bit LOL.

Oh blimey! Feel for you! Even worse that you only got yourself to blame, at least if someone else does it you can have a rant at them! Hope it gets sorted soon!

Puts a new slant on the "Crushed sills" thread. Omar, don't worry about hammering your brother, it's what they are there for, especially if they are smaller,younger/weaker/better looking than yourself.

Oh thats nasty, I suppose damage is inevitable on Indian roads?

Then again a couple of our local car parks (UK) have big rocks on the bends/junctions

Have you thought about whether a set of side skirts would cover it up????

is it worth repairing? i can see it needing new panel welding in which could cause problems with rust later on, as said, set of side skirts to cover it i would do

Its a big job for sure, the sill includes the whole side of the rear of the car up to the roof. They would probably just cut along the rear wing and piece a new section in, then fill the join, it wont be a long lasting repair for sure.

Personally, if it were mine... I would get a bodyshop to pull the dent out, they can weld a puller of sorts onto the sill (a large bolt or similar) and pull out the dent as best they can, then cut the puller off and skim the damage left with bodyfiller and paint.

Ok so I have a few options:

1. Get it fixed for cheap at the local bodyshop (No guarantees for colour matching), but my only concern is that they might spoil it even more.

2. Get it fixed at the Signature Tata-Fiat dealership in Delhi-very pricey (But my concern is that 500 being a new car they are very inexperienced !)

3. My friend suggested to bag it from the other side as well and tell people that it is a design. LOL

4. My father says to leave it for the time being as it is not too noticible and get it fixed sometime next year when we drive down to Delhi (I somewhat agree with him, but I .... you know what I mean)

i know what you mean, its hard to decide what to do for the best. At least with me its only a new complete bumper, so hopefully all they can mess up is the colour of it!

Well thats spoilt my Christmas.

If side skirts would cover it, I'd go for that option.

Those pictures make me feel sick! I'd be :bang: big time!
