The KA convertible is cramped, uncomfortable, crashy, noisy - oh, soooo noisy - and can, frankly, only be driven by girls because of all the signals it puts out.

The 500 can only be far, far better.

It'll look okay with the window pilars still as per the other photo, but the red KA-type one above is the one I thought was vile - taking the boot away takes the whole look of the 500 away IMO.

Im sure the 500 will be great too. It should be quite stiff too as its still got the side panels... from what Ive read stiffness can be a problem in cabrios with the roof down. (waits for obvious double entendre jokes...)

Well considering it looks like a normal 500 with plastic sheet and gaffer tape on the roof and back window, I dont think you can tell if its horrible or not IMHO! Maybe thats what it is but the people who own it were having the outside of their house painted and didnt want splashes of Sandtex on it

I think it's not going to look great still having the pillars intact to save money. I know it's going to undercut the Mini convertible by a CONSIDERABLE margin but I think it would be / will be much better looking if they had it pillarless, with cool chromed roll bars and the fabric roof resting on the rear shelf, a la mini?

I'm sure even with the added engineering cost it would still undercut the mini by quite some way.

According to fiat500blog.de the convertible 500 will cost 2000 euro more than a normal 500! I would say it's not so expensive!!

I am too. Seen these pictures on the interweb a while back. My wife has already eyed one up as a replacement for our 1.2 Sport.

That very obviously fake picture has been around for a long time.

The fact that the article it is part of is dated 9th July 2007 attests to that.
