Hi all, just joined as I have been bitten by the 500 bug and test drove a 1.3 diesel last week. Love the feel and style and options and of course the downsize option it offers from my BMW 3 series ( I am mainly a low mileage town driver) . thing is I have been faced with various comments since telling people that I fancy the 500 many of which are around "is that a woman's car?" and some of the press reviews suggest similar.

Now I know the Mini presented the chance for a cool/cute car to be both male and female depending on engine/options/colour , is this a similar thing for the 500? Cheers

Its very colour/options dependant, for instance IMO a Funk white car on std. 15" rims is very girly, likewise a cha cha blue. However, the darker colours on 16"s are a bit more blokey! None are obviously a very manly car, but if youre worried what anyone thinks then go for a dark sport, with 16s and tinted windows!

If the exhaust pipe is on the left or the right hand side of the car then it is either male or female. If the exhaust is central (Elise, Milni etc....) the it is a jolly ( ) car. If exhausts pipe on both side then it is a show off!

The 500 is the same as any small FIAT, just don't care what anybody think's but be safe in the knowledge you are driving THE coolest little car money can buy.

of course you could go for the Abarth, I think that is a definate boys toy!!

Wrong... Fiats are part of life, they are in my blood Mine gets me to work and life certainly dont happen there!

Not sure on this one as I've seen around 50/50 male/female drivers.

The 500 is rather special and can be whatever you want it to be - I believe the term is 'Transgender' (look it up)

:yeahthat: Too girly even for me IMO and I'm a girl But it's how you feel in it and if you love it then who care's what anyone else thinks? One write-up I read did say the girls would love you for having one so you might be in luck :chin: If you were considering other BMWs it's a whole lot nicer then a Mini or 1 series so either way you're onto a winner
