Less people would have went for white if they had charged for it.

Is this true tho? I ordered mine in white because from seeing early pics of the 500 I thought that it looked "right" in white with the design of the car, in a classic sort of a way. Dont think Ive heard anyone say they chose BN white purely because it was a no cost option! Tho not wishing to offend anyone else the 500 looks bangin in lots of other colours too, I was particularly surprised at how nice ye ye green looks in the flesh

But the early pics of the white were always in Funk White, not BN White weren't they?

youre probably right heidi but now Im over 40 Im so woolly white is white to me! Think when I did the design thing on the 500 lab website before the car was released, i did it in yellow with black graphics! I had a predilection for broom yellow at that time tho.

A bit gutted by this news tbh. My next 500 was going to be in Punk Grey as I love the retro look and its cool brown / grey effect. Doesn't look like that's going to happen unless I get myself a used one

Comment about manufacturers discontinuing unpopular colours is spot on. Smart have recently dropped their metallic red and yellow for a 'classy' metallic grey and a solid red.

There is a part of me that wishes I'd stretched the budget a bit further and got Punk Grey - oh well! :(

How long were you leaving it til your next one whitepop? cos if it is 3 or 4 years they would probly have changed most of the colours anyway! Still think white (be it BN or F) is classy choice. Odd when they always used to say dont buy a white car as its an unpopular colour and will be worth less than an equivalent car of another colour! Not seen one in the punk grey, seen the green (looks better than I expected) black (i like) azure (makes it look quite feminine IMO). I thought the red was a bit burgundyish at first but its grown on me.

I think it would either be in 12 or 18 months, possibly two years max. I'd have to wait and see what colours were around by then. Is the New Orleans Blue metallic? I've looked on autotrader at some Fiats with it and its metallic.
Can't see much point in it tbh, especially next to Mod Blue.

Plus if it is metallic and so is Electroclash Grey where is the solid replacement? If Jive Blue is bitting the dust that only leaves BN white as afree colour?!?

Yes.

Totally different colours. New Orleans Blue is a royal blue, Mod Blue is a navy.

There isn't one. Look on the previous page ;)

should think most of colours should be the same by then? Hope they have one or two that float your boat when you change! Yeah this does raise a few questions tho, dont know when this comes into force as you can still have the deleted colours on the configurator! Guess we need definitive info from a dealer on here or in person!

Fiat stopped taking new orders for Jive Blue and Punk Grey on Thursday (23 October).

They will stop taking orders for Calypso Orange and start taking them for Electroclash Grey and New Orleans Blue "by the end of the month".

The 'old' colours will stay on the configurator until existing stocks of those colours have been sold. The new ones will be on next week sometime.

You've just had it ;)

While out in my rare calypso orange 500 today, I kept saying to other motorists who were as usual looking at my rare car.. "its rare you know"! Just think in years to come people will be saying "remember those rare colours on the 500s"?
It feels very special knowing no one else will be able to buy one new soon:) Still picturing the dull grey with black... urgh, imagine how dull thatll look when dirty on a dark winters day... gloomy:)
If I get another 500 in a few years, itll be yellow:) if thats not replaced by another dull and dark colour:(

It was our first car and we loved it! Kept going for years after we left it behind, we use to see it around quite a bit. My mother in law ran out into the road once when she saw it at some lights to tell the bloke it used to be ours... prob thought she was gonna car jack him! It was a bit like having a 500 actually, other owners used to wave at us as we went past!

We had a Snapdragon Yellow one in 1995/6. It had a black vinyl roof, VDP interior and a 1750 engine. Went like stink and also had a custom made front spoiler, cut and shut from an Opel Manta! It was sooo unreliable though, ate 2 headgaskets, starter motor, altenator, clutch slave cylinder and finally a driveshaft let go and when it got home the servo packed in and drank all the brake fluid!!! What a car though when it went, really flew and we had a custom exhaust which sounded superb:)
