General MPG Record?

Mines not far off - 33.3 mpg
I'm hoping its cause the engine still needs to loosen up :chin:
Ive only done a total of 350 miles since Ive had her.

In my 1.2 Sport 700miles, I'm getting around 44mpg.. Mainly due to stop start rush hour journeys.. Friends are supprised it's that low for a 1.2, expecting 50-60 !

I'm playing with ecoDrive, my ecoIndex is 67 (better than the community average, which I presume has all engine variants) but I'm still getting told off for my acceleration! I can't bare to pull away much slower to keep it happy! As James May stated on Top Gear, In order to enjoy a 1.2 Fiat engine you have to rev it until the valves are flying out of the engine :D... So I'm trying to ignore the ecoDrive thing but something within me wants to get up to 50mpg on my normal journey to work :yum:

Another thing odd coincidence is since my last fuel fill up my MPG was 36, now up to 40, and it was Tesco Fuel ! Previously I have been using Shell
Anyone else noticed anything similar with fuel quality? But I'm to going to start paying for the super stuff...

Interesting.... My wife took my 500 down to her parents today, and sneakily I setup a Eco-Drive profile for her and downloaded the data when she got home this evening. Knowing that she's a bit heavy on the right foot, but was surprised by her journey home.

She got an Eco-Rating of 95 !!! Average MPG was 46.7mpg though  She informed me that she took the motorway and cruised at a steady 75mph all the way.

Other ideas that will help, are to coast IN GEAR up to traffic lights and coast IN GEAR down any hills you can. Modern cars, when coasting in gear, shut off the fuel supply to the engine on the overrun. HOWEVER, when you take it out of gear and coast, the management squirts small amounts of fuel into the engine to keep it ticking over.

That's kinda true, it does help but the engine actually still throws in a some fuel to lubricate the system (i.e. cylinder walls) but no where as much as on tickover.

My 1.2 Lounge has averaged 41mpg since I got it, is that normal? Seems a bit low to me, although I do mostly city and town driving at 10-15mph so that doesn't help, and I do drive it hard sometimes.

My average over the last month has been 38. :(

Low 40's seems to be the going rate for 1.2 in town driving...

This cold weather is killing my MPG! It's dropped loads and i'm doing the exact same route and driving in just the same way. Bring back summer!

oh wait, we didnt get a summer this year. I mean, Bring on A summer.

Just thought I'd put an update on this thread, we've covered about 800 miles now, mostly motorway and around 70 - 80 mph and we can't better 38 MPG. I'm hoping it will improve as it beds in, I can better that in my Chrysler 300C!!

it will go up, my average average ?? is 45mpg the ONLY way to get it realy high is to do the reset (push the button on the indicator and hold it) and then drive from the second it resets using like 10 percent of the throttle movement doing this i have seen over 60mpg on mixed roads over quite a few miles but if you'r going to drive like this constantly you may aswell use a bus...

I know it's a diesel and i know it's a Panda, but went for a 47 mile spin last night, had to take my time as it was bucketing down, reset the trip meter before i set off, when i got home 47 miles later, i checked it and it was on 72.6 MPG, not bad but my best was 82 MPG as some of you may already know!
