General Downside of the glass roof.....

:ROFLMAO: Thats funny!
What do you use that fabric cover for?Frost?

LOL! maybe you can get your cat to clean your car too :p

our cat Kiki (in the avatar) licks the windows when there's condensation

I have gone through 2 hoods on my old MX-5 with my neighbours fat cat liking to sit on it. Where the cat sat in the middle between supporting bars, the roof had sagged over time. This pulled it up at the edges and started letting water in over the windows where it no longer sealed properly.

2 hoods at £350 for the normal one and £500 for the mohair (hoping it would be stronger) as i have a friend in the trade so fitted + my time and petrol.

Id spend all day on a Saturday doing a series of wax treatments before a car show only to find scratches on the paintwork where the cat scrambles up the slippery paint surface, and also leave a trail of muddy paw prints.

The worst thing is the darn thing messes in the coloured gravel on my front garden next to my front door. If I ever catch it in the act (i know its that one - but id have to be sure) it will be dead. I have a toddler who is 2yrs 3 months and at that age she puts her hands and feet everywhere. You can probably see where im going with this. Id probably kill the cat and beat my neighbour to a pulp if there was any risk to my little girl.

Im a very patient and tolerant person.
But this subject has really hit a nerve which has been ongoing for years. I have that silent roar and the sonic guards set up to try to keep them away from my property (more money ive spent).

So please, has anyone got any idea why its considered OK that next door can enjoy owning an animal that messes on my property, puts the health of my girl at risk, costs me lots of time and lots of money. Ruins my hobby (which doesn't hurt anybody else) and there is nothing legally I can do about it?
Apparently as its a cat its OK they cant really control it. Im sure a dog owner could have been reprimanded by now.
How can that be fair?

Dont get me wrong, we really like our neighbours (or this would probably come to a head before this) but if I spend time waxing the 500 and then find the same paw prints on the car, that will be it.

I have no more tolerance remaining.
Rest assured it will probably involve moving the cat (20 miles or so to the next town) rather than any direct harm, (im not sure i could harm it pre-meditated) to somewhere there are plenty of houses and it will find another owner I hope (as they often do).

Sorry for the rant, as I know this thread was not about how much people hate cats.
I really have had enough though. As a car lover not a cat lover why should I have to suffer!

It can go near the 500 at its peril.

is that my cat thinks it's great to sit on it and lick the water off in the morning - i now have lovely muddy paw prints on the roof and all down the bonnet! He does this on my hubbie's civic with a glass roof too so it must be something cats like! LOL
Our cat used to lick condensation of the house windows.

Try putting a fresh cup of water somewhere in your house for the cat. Put her upto the cup when she licks the car to make her use the cup instead.

Now ours drinks out of her own cup that is kept in one bedroom window

This sounds disgusting, but can work and is nature's way.

Pee in a watering can, suggest drinking water before hand to build up quantity, then sprinkle watering can around the perimeter of your drive. Cat smells wee, thinks territory of other animal and stays away.

I can't believe I wrote this, but have experience of it working.

Cue jokes of very tall watering can, etc.....

I'm a cat owner but I can still understand your irriation with your neighbours cat and the concerns about the potential risk to your daughters health. In the past I have bought cat repellant and given that to my neighbours if they have complained to me about my cat being in their garden, cat repellant is basically a pepper spray. You could also try citrus based sprays cats hate it.
I'm sure that there are plants that could be put close to where you park your car that would put your neighbours cat off coming into your drive way and garden.
Have you spoken to your neigbours about how much their pet has cost you in repairs to your car, I'm not sure what the legal situation would be on claiming damages from your neighbour but it could be worth your while checking this with the citizens advice bureau.
You have my sympathy I'd be arsed off too if my neighbours beloved pet damaged my property.
