One week to go .. after months of begging and pleading fundraising, we are nearly ready for our trip to Italy.

The graphics are now on the car - what do you think?

We have gone a good way towards reaching our target and we still have a couple of hundred quid in the pipeline. Thanks to all who have donated - and it is still not too late, Justgiving page still open!!

SO, this time next week we will be on the ferry, first night stop at the mighty Nurburgring; then off through Germany into Austria for two nights in the Tirol, before joining the Italian Job start in Imola... will try and do some updates whilst away.

Cheers guys and girls! (y)

As for the beam deflectors - bit of pot luck really. The other half is in charge of stickies. He says he put them in the approx position of where they used to go on the Mini - probably not quite correct but had nothing to use as a reference. Hopefully we will be drinking beer by night and not driving!

We have given up beer since 1 Sept to pay for our petrol for the trip. I can't wait to get to Germany ..:D Have a good time in Paris NP.

As we speak - it is a lovely sunny day outside and I am stuck indoors, ironing and packing and generally stressing about how many pairs of shoes I can fit in the car.. hmmmm.

We have gone down the fold-the-back-seat flat route - which was fine except the seat belt fastenings dug into the rear of the back seat leather really badly. Solution = remove rear seat base and feed belt fasteners through to boot space. I was a bit shocked to see the car in bits!

However it is now having its oil and water check and a bit of a detailing session going on in the engine bay. I think it is male bonding.

A trip into Brighton may be in order later day for a little posing (y)

Best of luck guys!

As I work for a charity, it never ceases to amaze me how kind people like yourselves are, who do stuff like this to raise money. I have to say I am jealous of both yourselves and the guys that went across the US but never underestimate how important and special you are to us charities - we couldn't survive without you!!!:worship:

Make sure keep us posted of your progress and ENJOY!!!!:)

Thanks for your encouraging comments Mrs Badcrumble, It has been hard fundraising this year, especially in the current financial climate, however, there are still a few kind souls out there who donated both cash and products and it is those people who are the stars.

BRIGHTON? well the rally has to finish somewhere! and it is close to home.
Anybody in the area on November 1st?
We will be arriving with a police escort on Madeira Drive (approx 3.30pm).
