Are you in your third year of warrenty yet? will be interested to know if the kick plates and centre caps are covered, I have just had the fog light surround replaced due to rust. Think the dealer mentioned it wouldnt be third year covered which starts next week, however they might just be saying that.

I'm about to go into third year cover in a few months so I want these things sorted soon! I saw the thread about the fog lights and was relieved to see my surrounds were plastic!

It seems a few things arn't covered in the third year because I have just had to have a new heater fan ordered due to buzzing before the warrenty ran out. Sadly my third year warrenty started today! Let us know how you get on with the kick plates. One of ours has always had a slight bit of rust around the rubber letters and has never got worse.

A set of Eibach springs will sort the your ride out............but I agree with you regarding the headlights on Dip, there useless, there fine on main beam though.
Anyone have any good idias apart from changing the bulbs or the headlamps for the later very expensive type.

Whack some naughty bulbs in!!!
My Dobbies runing 80/100's and before you ask...no they dont dazzle on coming traffic! (well not all of it!)

The rust spots on the boot....are they on top of the paint???
when i used to wrk at the dealers a fair bit back...when the chink was new, they would come with rust on and we had to compound the boll%x out of the roors and bonnets! in the end it was found to be the fall out from the chimmney on the train in Poland that moved em about.
might be the same thing??,even the kick plates maybee down to this as its just dust/ash that falls and once damp...then you get youre rust :slayer:
i do like the new 500's but her indoors likes her mini cooper, but i quite like the look of the alfa mito 170bhp cloverleaf ;o)

regards

Richie

yeah they are on top of the paint, I've removed them before and they've come back. So possibly brake dust? It was delivered with them so I believe the Polish train theory is correct!

and go for the Mito ;) they look very tasty

Thanks a lot beepx3 for your updates! (y)
Glad to see that barring a few niggles the car is going strong! By nature people tend to report and whinge about problems on forums (or over-praising silly in the first months of ownership), so to have the other side of the story is reassuring for new owners like me even if our respective uses aren't the same (high mileage/short amount of time, I take it you do loads of motorway).
