I looked through and couldn't see a thread about this although I DO remember reading about it but can't remember the remedy.

It rained for the first time when driving today and put wipers on and all was ok until I restarted car to come home and they were juddering. Phoned the dealer who told me to spray them with the washer fluid, so I did. THey don't judder when the screen is really really wet, but they do in normal light rain ... it's not a small judder either, but quite a jumpy slide across the screen.

I'm sure someone had a remedy for this - if they can tell me I can then tell hubbie what to do :D

thanks

Heidi try getting hubby to clean the rubbers with neat screen wash do it a few times you'll be amazed how much crap comes off. If this fails then as Miss Sporty said get the dealership to change the rubber blade.

I found that mine were juddering no matter what I applied, so I cleaned the screen and blades using some vinegar and newspaper, then took the car out in the rain and used the wipers. It was better but they were squeaking.

You know what I did to stop all juddering and squeaking in the end? Stopped washing it with car shampoo or any products. When you're washing the car DON'T let any suds or shampoo get on the windscreen, just use water to clean it. No extra grime busters or anything, just water. Mine are now silky smooth. (y)

By trial and error I have come up with the same conclusion as Lloyd71 - just water and plenty of it applied with lots of elbow grease... No other products whatsoever! Works a treat...

If you have some de-mineralised or distilled water that is better than tap water. I use the water collected from my de-humidifier for cleaning my screen with either newspaper or a microfibre cloth. I also top up the screen washer bottle with the same stuff.
