Well, I found Nissan to be well below Fiat in terms of CS. My Micra had a host of issues from knocking suspension, seat mechanisms constantly breaking, umpteen rattles and squeaks and recalls galore.

They wouldnt acknowledge the suspension clonks or the fact it bottomed out at the rear all the time, they told me the seats always break and what did I expect as they were now half Renault!!!! Customer service were totally useless, at least with Fiat they give some compensation. As for the rattles, they sent someone to ride in the car and he could hear more rattles than I could and said its because of the Renault influence!

But above it all, the Micra has no soul or character, its dull to drive and its rubbish too....
When I wanted to trade it in, one dealer didnt want it at all, the next knew of all the problems and offered a pittance and it was only Fiat that offered 6k after convincing the Nissan franchise they had to put it on their plot... the salesman at Nissan didnt want it as he was over supplied with the things.

Just my tuppance happeny...
Stating the obvious, as soon as you drive off the forecourt its 2nds hand..

Diversity and each to their own, but assuming you bought the 500 for its retro styling and umm, well,trendyness...WHY a Micra that surely must be due to be replaced in about a year witha new model?

Still, I had a leaky smart roadster, and im trying to get my 500 sorted, so ignore me, what do I know!

Thats very true. Fiat and many of the car mags were confidant the 500 would buck the trend and retain 50% after 3 years, 36000 miles. I always said that they wouldnt and I still say that a 3 year old 500 with average miles will be around 40% of its value, obviously excluding any extras. So, when I trade mine in eventually if I get 4.5k Ill be happy... if not poorer:)

Spam advertiser. He is no more.

I don't wish to upset anyone, but Marc was actually my dealer for Lucia that I picked up on Saturday and all I can say is that he was an absolute star to me, providing an excellent service and a thorough and professional handover. I'm afraid it was me who put him onto reading this forum, so he could see the positive comments I made about him (see thread called "My Little Lucia").
I just think he needed a little education in the etiquette of this forum.

I feel really bad now that he has been treated like this, the guy at a different dealership didn't get blacklisted for trying to get me to buy an alarm from him!

I apologise to anyone who was offended by his posting, I really do, but it seems so unfair based on other dealers' behaviour on this site. (n)

Palmers are less than generous in their part ex payments. They subsequently put the cars on ebay at a massive profit.

I had my AX (sorry for swearing!) for 5 years which was good, but then managed to have a seicento, smart, ka and CMax in the space of 5 years - oops. Just couldn't find the car I liked - now I've got it ... should never have changed from the Seicento - that and my Panda were the best cars I've ever owned!

I've always got good money from my part-ex's though - we keep our cars really tidy inside and the paintwork is spot on .... also I do alot of research on the values before we go in so I'm armed with the information so I don't get diddled (blonde female and all that).

The 500 cost me £11K, I reckon in 3 years it'll be worth about £4K - what do you reckon?

Id say you were spot on with 4k, mine was £11970 so I reckon 4.5ish.
Its weird, I sold my Seicento after 2 1/2 years but I had a Cinq for over 3 before that, so in effect Id had basically the same car for 5 1/2 years:) Got a new Micra which was awful so that went after a year for a new Panda, got treated really badly by Fiat Olympian then and it tained my view on Fiats so sold it and ran used cars for 3 years then the 500.

I know you didnt have an AX for 5 years, they had all fallen apart long before then!
My cars always stay in nice condition too, whoever gets them has a really good used buy.
