Now the 500 has been around for a little while how have the leather seats been standing up?

Pretty good, slight stretching on the drivers seat (8k miles) but nothing more than expected.

It has stood up to kids muddy football boots pretty well.

Leather seems a good quality (better than the german std varieties), more like a Nappa in texture.

unless you wasted money on the dealer protection, then your buggered, it stops the leather being able to breath then it will crack. you will need to get it all off before feeding

Fed mine early on.

Agree, once cracked, leather is a mare.

(The stretch I can see could be reined in again by refixing the clips on the base... no cracks)

Heidi, it's all a matter of prevention better than cure. You may be lucky and never need to do it.

I religiously did one car, the leather was perfect when it went back, the next car I never bothered and it still looked great, but then I did not bother with my wife's and paid for it when the leather started to crack.

It doesn't take long, so I would just do it every 6 months or so......

The leather seems so soft, i cant imagine it cracking. Ive sat in cars that have hard shiny leather that make you slip all over the place. I can imagine them cracking, but not the 500. I'm going to take the risk and leave the leather alone.
