General fed up with waiting

General fed up with waiting

Sorry if it wasn't clear, I live in Perth, Western Australia... in Australia... I reckon pretty close to the bum-end of the world for Fiat.

And I guess, no-one else has been also told that a the previous shipment went to the wrong country?

Best of luck with the wait - Fiat/Ateco doesn't give a $hit about customers on this side of the world.

Haha... no i've softened my view on the 7th state of Australia (counting the NT as a territory), since my sister married a kiwi... :)

After reading luvduvs ordeal, i'm having less confidence with Fiat... but unfortunately no other car holds as much nostalgic value for me mum - her dad had the original.

A bit of a rock and a hard place.

To nikgr, hopefully being in the same continent as the manufacturer lends to getting the car sooner.

Had a call from Fiat today saying that my car will not be arriving for delivery on September 3rd due to the factory in Poland being shut down for hols.

I almost expected this as others here mentioned this problem. However, they had found a car with the same spec minus chrome mirrors but with some sort of roof stripe.

They said they would put the chrome mirrors on and get the car to me for 3rd Sept. ( The date just happens to be my wedding anniversary you see. The wife loves things like that. )

The only downside is that some brainless twerp has driven the car between dealerships and as a result put 45 miles on the clock.

That's a bit harsh, calling someone a brainless twerp because he wanted to drive a 500.

Sure, everyone wants to drive one but they should have put it on a transporter and had their drive in a demonstrator.

I ordered mine in November, then got it in March.... But then put it back on the same boat in June (except it was going the other way) and didn't see it till the 10th of July at JFK in New York.

Had two and a bit weeks with it and now I'm never going to see it again

Gonna miss it

Hope you enjoy yours when it turns up and 45 miles done by the dealer is 45 miles less you'll have to do of running in

Jim

I'd have to agree with you, and i bet i had the longest wait of any one.

I live in NZ.

Ordered a Red MJT1.3 in October 2007, paid my deposit.
Boat with my car on arrived July 2008....but when boat unloaded my car was not there.

Almost 2 weeks later was told by the dealer that my car had never been manufactured !!!!!! After almost 10 months waiting.

They gave me a list of available cars, none near what i had ordered. So now i have a very nice 1.4 Sport in Yellow.

Ateco didn't even ring up and apologise, although they did give a small discount.

Not long after i had ordered the Red one i spoke to the brand manager and he said when mine arrived i would get sent a gift pack, car polish etc.......no sign of that either. If i could get a 500 any other way i would of.

5.5 month wait list - I don't have any delivery date yet! - same with paulmc. This is after putting down the deposit on a dealer pre-ordered car back on the 5th of march - that was quoted to have been built in April. Are you guys by any chance in Perth, Australia?

5.5 months, not sure I could wait that long. Then again I am still waiting for a particular model that has not been release here and still don't know if it's going to be released here!

April build should have arrive here by now. You are usually looking at about 3 months if the car is build to order. That is generally the case with Euro cars. My Pug was a Feb 07 build and I got it early May 07. Fortunately for me I ordered it in late April while it was on it's way over on the boat.

Troy.

i must have been lucky i went to the dealer to do some work for them, as i do alarms and multimedia.
and i was looking at what i thought was a customers car in the spec i wanted base model multijet diesel in yellow
did not want blue and me or wheels and i wanted a gray trim.
and it turned out to be a pre reg model no mileage other than the 10 miles from the dealer the pdi centre and back
and a discount on the original price and was mine 3 yes 3 days later :slayer:

so the discount has allowed
17" dare rims
remap
blue tooth kit
and audio install
and its only 4 days old (y)

I think your original car is cursed!

First off it was delayed, and last night some mindless :tosser: keyed it on the forecourt at Wessex

What makes people do stuff like this?
String them up by the balls!!

Probably bairns. I remember my old garage had 12 Pandas in a row as a display along the front of the garage. Overnight a couple kids started runing across the cars by their roofs.12 Pandas off to the bodyshop probably only took the kids 2-3 minutes to do the damage.

No idea, but it was obviously planned, as they only did the brand new cars, even when they had to go past used ones to get to them

When I had my car vandalised they left my neighbours car (a few years old and dirty) and walked over the bonnet of mine. :(
Still with people like this going around my job should be safe!!
And the guys in your body shop.

Serious! I'm sorry to hear that. However, I'm really loving this one right now.
Loads of people have been drooling over it too and quite a few have been over to Wessex to have a little look-see since I've had it.
