Right some of you have had your 500`s a while now.
My question to you all is this one.
With your head and not your heart would you recommend a 500 to a friend, stranger ,please be honest.
You can state your reasons for and against as you wish!:)
I thankyou very much in advance,Richard.:)

I have voted 'Yes' as I would really recommend it to anyone. Although it is not the best car I ever had (the title goes to...(drum roll)... Subaru Outback 3.0 H! I don't really think you can compare them though as the little 500 is so much smaller and less powerfull than Subaru, but with the petrol prices guess which car gets driven all the time AND makes me grin like a looney :D Big feat for a small car ;)

I voted 'yes' but couldn't quick click the 'best car I've ever had' as I'm not sure anything will ever beat my yellow Punto GT, I adored that car and sobbed like a loon when it was sold.

It's a close call though, I love love love my 500.

I have voted yes as I think Fiat have improved their model range in the last couple of years and the 500 is the best yet IMHO. My favourite(s) however will always be my string of Cooper 'S' cars dating back to 1963 - 1968. I had 11 and loved them all.

I voted not sure, its not the best drive ever but if you love Fiats then its almost compulsory to have one... but I dont think most ordinary folk would like the ride and bouncy handling. For me the previous Centos were more fun to drive. However, I do love mine but its more of an A road car than a B road one.

I said yes buy one, but be very very choosy about which dealer you go to

Yes, it's not perfect, it's not the best car I've ever owned (that was a 05 boxster S) but it is well priced, offers good options that you could only get on much higher spec car, looks great, is cheap to run, and I agree....it does make you smile. There aren't many cars that make you want to look out the window and smile at them but my 500 does.

The only thing I have against it so far is the road noise is a little more than I'd like but this isn't helped by my choice for 16" wheels (style over ride quality....maybe ) so I can't blame it.

It all comes down to what you want from a car. I've (as I'm sure loads of people on the forum have) owned lots of different cars and at this moment in time I like the 500. My girlfriend has a new corsa diesel (same engine as my 500) and the ride and cabin space is better but she would swap in a second for my 500 she absolutely loves it. I would like the improved ride but would miss blue and me, wheel controls, electronic rear view mirror, digital dash (MPG, etc) and climate. So everything is a compromise....buy what you want and enjoy it. A car is no longer a long term choice....you get three or four years at best and usually end up changing cars (some much quicker) so just go for what you like now and enjoy it.
:)

Yes, it's a car best described as 'fit for purpose' and some. Its fun, good build quality and puts a smile on your face whether looking at it or driving it. Always the first car off the drive in the morning, whether its me or my wife driving it.

Best car I have owned ? Probably not, I also have a BMW 335i Conv, great car, bloody expensive to run. Experience less than the sum of the the parts. Wife has a Golf GTI, brilliant in every respect.

As just about everyone has pointed out, its all about what you need the car for that decides whether its the best car you've ever owned or not.

I voted yes, as my 500 is the best car on fuel consuption I've ever owned, but its not as fast as my Impreza nor can it tow as much as my recently departed Isuzu Rodeo.

Cheers

I voted yes ,its fun ,its saving me money in the long run, its funky(love the interscope ,blue and me).
Ive had 6 uno`s,(2 uno turbo`s a 1.3,+1.4) a gt punto, a marea,,a bravo hgt155, and a bravo jtd hlx(which was great)but this 500 is a brilliant bit of engineering from Fiat(y) and i love it well done.:D:D:D

Like most on here I voted 'yes' as I truly love my little Italian vintage bubble, but I have to confess its not the best car I've owned. That would be my first car, my Inca Yellow 1979 Triumph Dolomite 1300. :D

I would buy another at the drop of a hat, much to the horror of my partner who exclaims; "But, the steering wheel is made of metal, and I'm pretty sure its never been euroNcap'd!" LOL :D

A long standing friend was looking to change his car for something smaller, maybe a Mini, he thought, but had I any other suggestions. How about a 500? I said. A week later he ordered one and was delighted with it. That was six months ago, last week I took delivery of my 500.

Ive voted yes, even though I'm only on my second full day of being a 500 owner, and she's everything i hoped she would be and more!
And i have recommended one to my mother who might be getting herself a black one :)

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending a 500 to anyone looking to buy a small car, but i'm finding I don't have to. I've had more people come up to me and ask me about my car in the last 3 months than in the previous 10 years of driving! Wouldn't say its my all time favourite car, that goes to my old '87 Volvo 480 ES it might have weighted 2 tonnes (1 of which was the bonnet) pop-up headlights that never worked and had a 1.7L engine that some how managed to use more oil than petrol - no mean feat - but I still loved it.
