there is a ferry from Southampton too! It is also alot closer to Ryde when you get to the other side, but the run to Lymington is much nicer.

Perhaps Tangotim could tell the Fiat magazine about it, arrange for them to photograph it and get Harwoods a bit of an ad too.

If so mark, you can go at the back of the convoy, as your massively shiny 500 machine will put all ours to shame if you were at the front I bet! Especially mine as it will have already covered over 200 miles just to get down there! Maybe grimwau and I will give both of ours a clean up on the morning of the convoy!

Grim - you can show my son how to feed the seagulls if you like, keep him occupied for the ferry journey, give me a bit of peace and I can have a cup of tea ha ha. The piping voice of a 3 year old can be rather wearing on a car journey (look mummy bridge, church, car, your car, lights, tree etc etc etc)!

er you sure you want to let me loose on your cars - i havent washed a car since about 1994 and that was my old Fiat Panda!

Just told hubbie that a garage on the IOW might be organising a fun run for 500's round the IOW and he said he'd come, then I said i'd be staying overnight and he didn't need to come if he didn't want and he said he wasn't letting me go on my own incase you all a bunch of weirdos! ha ha ha! So I think I've persuaded him to come with us now i'm happy

dont worry Heidi, you would be issued with copious instructions and specific cleaning products... no tescos car wash thank you very much! Glad mr heidi is coming, mrs notts is coming too, so they can sit together and roll their eyes and sigh while we all gush about our cars!

great, hope its not all torque talk, hydraulic tappets and in gear acceleration tho... design I can gush about for hours but the engine is just something big and hot that sits under the bonnet making noise! I believe you have to put some sort of oil in it at some point

He doesn't wear an anorak if that's what you mean Just an enthusiast who can take cars to pieces and put them back together with no spare bits!!! or in the case of the current Jag MkII project, by a garage full of bits and a bodyshell and make it whole again!!

Just for the record, I don't let anyone else wash my car, I cringe when they talk about sponges and chamois leathers. I would make an exception in Marks case though.

Anyone heard any more about this, potentially it's only 8 or 9 weeks away.

I'm going to trek on down early Friday to get buisy with the cleaning tasks in hand, then off for a beer on Friday night, stopping over Saturday night too.

As soon as we have a date I'll be sorting a hotel to stay at (as long as it's not the weekend of March 28/29 as I'm in Euro Disney for a week.

Havent heard yet, looked on the website last week and no details as yet.

I have just spoken with Harwoods, they have confired there will be an event this year, "sometime in the spring". They have said they will e-mail me when they have set the date.
