General 500 steel wheels

General 500 steel wheels

take wheel trims off if you can if that concerned, then kerbing wont show if it occurs when you refit your trims

They are only cheap steelies at end of day not alloys.

PCD of a GP wheel is 4x100 for reference

less you have wobbly bolts it's a no go

you could always trawl ebay theres bown to be a set of 500 steels on there if someone has swaped them fro a/m alloys

Some of the offsets are 2-3mm out on some of the punto stuff vs the 500. Should not be a real concern, all the info ref PCD's and offsets will be stamped on the wheel somewhere, I think they are 37mm offset on the 16's.

what size are the punto steels?
also where r u?

wont the punto gp wheels go on with wobbly bolts?:)

I don't know the size of the Punto steels as such. I am just talking from experience, I bought some 17" Punto alloys which I am busy refurbing before putting on my 500.
Have a look on ebay, the critical things to note are the PCD and Rim-offset in the advertisement details.
You may find that brand new steel rims could be cheaper than you think, but obviously tyres add to the cost considerably

Hi

The ones i've got spare are from a mk 2 punto, they are 14inch and take the 14 inch 500 pop plastic trims (which i also have a set of from BJ).

I know they fit a 1250 because i put the steels off the 500 on the punto and the alloys off the punto on the 500. I dont know if the hubs on the 1.4 are the same i've not looked at one.

I'm in long eaton which is near nottingham just of M1 junc 24 / 25.

how can "wobbly" bolts work when the face of the wheel and the face of the hub are flat ? it defies common sence

erm maybe it's tame for me to draw a cross section of a wobly bolt in use but it'll have to wait i'm too hot lol they do work but have been know to come lose or be overtightened and snap it's mostly quality isue or user error thou

the hubs on the 500 are all the same otherwise how could they all be fitted with the same alloys they would have 2 be 3 of every type lol don't be silly

it's obvious isn't it if you want the correct offset or atleast very close steel wheels go get them from a panda i believe some have 14 most are 13

gp wheels will be very different offset

the punto mk2 mk2b steels are a very similar offset again

barchetta is based on mk1 punto so quite diferent again but better than the gp wheels
