It's been 4 weeks since I ordered and I've heard absolutely zilch, although I expect that's because nothing to report? I'm going to go in on Friday under the guise of showing my mum and toddler my new car and going to ask what status it is at. What status do you think it will be? I'm hoping it will at least be the build status as the delivery date was set at 30th August - although I now know for sure there is no way it is going to be here by then is it?

Update on the depreciation - you know they said they were going to absorb any depreciation after 30th August? Well I looked on the paperwork I signed and it does say that if the car doesn't arrive by the estimate date then they reserve the right to knock 2.5% off the car value for every month that goes by. They originally said £300 a month but the 2.5% is only £160 for the first month, £156 for the second etc etc. What happens if they try to stick to the £300 (even though they have said they won't depreciate further I frankly don't believe anyone these days) but the paperwork says 2.5%? Am I within my rights to stick to the 2.5%???

No harm in going in and having a chat with your salesman they should answer any questions you may have including the depreciation factor :)
Looks like you will be a 58 september plate like moi:D:D

So they take money off for every month its late. I never heard of that, sounds good though (y)

Yeah sorry, should have explained it as off the part-ex value - it's on the back of the paperwork I signed to order the car ..........

Yes looks like a 58 plate for me, although that's good as I have a long trip up north beginning of september and might as well put the mileage on the old car rather than the new one!

Well I have complete faith in the dealer (famous last words.......) unlike my husband - why would the dealer lie to me ... it's not as if it's late or even approaching the estimated delivery date.

I'm not going to let him have a drive in the new car now to serve him right! Needless to say I just told him he was miserable and put the phone down! I shall expect an apology - what are the chances of getting one guys?! LOL

Oh dear, maybe it's the 'extras' - maybe some are quicker to do than others. I've only got a few extras - but I thought the Funk White might hold it up but looks like no which is weird. The garage did say that, and i quote, "we do a bit of jiggerypokery with the orders on the Fiat site and move things around to get the best delivery date" - no idea what they mean but it seems to have worked. Bit odd that a small garage in bournemouth wields that much power though.

My hubbie still says not to get excited til it's at the dealer and we can go look at it - I'm wondering if I get there and it'll be Bossa Nova White!

Heidi, the Fiat part of Westover maybe small but the Westover group itself is massive and very very rich.... the owner buys up loads of dealers all over the area, hes probably got connections:) Still, Ive never got a car quickly from them in the past, they must like you!
