I'm so excited I've just ordered a funk white 1.3 MJ, with sunroof and red leather white ambience interior. I'm hoping Lil' Luigi will arrive in October but if his delivery takes longer I'm sure he'll be worth the wait. :)

Has anyone else bought their little bundles of joy from the Arnold Clark Fiat Dealer in Edinburgh, if so I was just wondering how you found dealing with them. The salesperson I dealt with didn't seem to know the spec and I had to show him around the Fiat website.

Counting down the weeks until he arrives!

Hello! Congratulations on ordering a FUnk White! I too have ordered one, but a 1.2 Lounge, with red leather seats. I ordered on 24th June, and my dealer has optimistically put end of August, but I think it's going to be more like October.

Welcome to the 500 forum.

We had one guy who bought from AC Gorgie road. You can have a search through his threads to see how he got on. His user name is Bearius. Not sure exactly how Gorgie are performing right now. Or what salesmen they have either.

Welcome to Fiatforum. (y)

Does anyone know when a new car gets registered and therefore gets it's plate? My 500 is due (estimated) end July (from an order in late April), I can imagine this slipping into august and as I am on hol from mid to end august would rather wait till sept and get a 58 reg? Am I likely to be able to do this? If they wanted my part ex early (i.e. as soon as the 500 is available) they could have it but not sure how long I could delay registration of the 500?

You are spending your money, so tell them when you want it. There will not be any registration bonus issues as Q3 finishes at the end of September.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome and advice I shall look up Bearius's posts to see how he got on with AC. This forum's fabulous everyone is really friendly and helpful. (y)

I had a similar experience with AC in Perth. (n)
So went into the one in Dundee where the salesman knew what he was talking about and was good to deal with (so far) so placed my order there instead.
I was told it would be probably be 12-14 weeks but he said they have had some arrive a bit sooner.

There are a couple really good up to spec guys at Balfield. The one who trained the rest of them I schooled on the 500. ;)

re: the sales guys in AC Dundee, I was just in today and wasn't too impressed. One guy didn't have much of a clue (Didn't realise that Jive Blue was a 'free colour').

I'm convinced I want a 500 just not convinced from AC Dundee. Any ideas, are Edinburgh any better?

I have sent you a pm telling you the salesman I dealt with there and he seemed to know his stuff ok.

If I was to order again I wouldn't go back to AC in Gorgie Road, Edinburgh. If I had no choice I would ask to speak to the most senior sales executive and in hindsight that is what I should have done. They salesperson we dealt with just didn't fill us with much confidence and seemed more interested in selling us the AC extras

We're just over a month into the order and after assurances of updates we've not heard a single thing! :(

A collegue who also ordered from there didnt get the alloys he spec'ed and had to wait 2 weeks for them though it was a case of bringing the 500 in for a swap.

Also when we were there placing our order we spoke to a couple who didnt look very happy because of a mix up with theirs. It was so strange seeing them like that as they were about to pick it up but I'm sure they are happy now

Anyway I suppose I should give them a call soon and get the status update. Will report if there is any news
