Picked up Dazzle this morning, really glad I ended up with the 1.4 as its such a nice sounding engine. Obviously took it easy on way home, kept it below 3000 rpm and got 48mpg:) Cant see why anyone would turn sport button off though!

I think the dealer were expecting us a little later, but it went smoothly enough. The cheeky lot had removed the mats and kickplates which was a little dissapointing as it had them on delivery, also the exterior was gleaming but I did have to spend 10 mins on the interior to wipe away a few greasy marks from it being a showroom car. But, tbh it hasnt tainted the fact I actually at last have one and love it.

Have to work soon, and the fronts bug splattered now so will take pics later in the week:)

Wohooo, glad to hear Dazzle has found his new home (y)

Shame about the mats etc, wouldnt have thought leaving them wouldve exactly broke the bank, but garages do weird things as you've found out Nuova.

That MPG is VERY impressive for a 1.4 - Dazzle is obviously happy :)

I think that's what is best Nuova, not really sure as my beast has just had his 8th Birthday (Punto Mk2)

Im sure what isn't recommended is a sustained period at the same amount of revs or a long drive at high speed. Not 100% certain, but what you describe seems to ring true as being a good way to let things run in.

According to Fiat eLearn, the engine is fully run-in after 50 hours of operation. There have been many threads on here regarding the running-in process, many of them contradictory.

Nuova, at last, congratulations.

I did the same ref running in, still tend to take it pretty easy now at 5000 miles. There is loads of contradictory information, just makes you feel better when you take care of them !

Glad your happy with it bud. After the saga thats gone on the past few weeks im guessing you are ecstatic at the moment (y). Hope the rest of your ownership is plain sailing.

NP, glad it's arrived at last, I'll keep a lookout for dazzle on my travels.(y)

ps. You can add chrome kit to your sig now.:)

Don't forget to pm the beast to add your photos to the members cars thread. I dare say he has already picked that one up already though as this seems to be the most watched posting on the forum.

Just been reading the bluetooth stuff.... its lost on me:) Cant wait till its done a 1000 miles so I can properly open her up, Im guessing 3000rpm and lots of gearchanging is a good way to run her in?

Just drive it normally. Providing its warmed up there is no good reason to restrict yourself to 3000rpm.

Give it the odd bootful in second gear, don't necessarily redline it, but nowt wrong with taking it to 4500rpm and as the mileage increases give it the odd burst to 5500rpm.

Don't abuse it, but don't limit yourself to 3000rpm either. I was hitting full revs on a daily basis by 600miles and had done it on occasion after 300. I've now done 7.5K it has loosened up nicely. MPG is going up a bit and it never uses any oil.

Am liking the interior btw.. very nice that tan leather. :)
