I have only had Bella three days and today when driving home, whenever I changed gear and then accelerated, there was a short, sharp couple of taps through the accelerator pedal feels a bit like popping bubbles... it didn't do it when I was driving normally, only when I put my foot back down on the accelerator after changing gear.

Does anyone know what I am talking about or experienced this? I could really do without a trek to the dealer (80 mile round trip).

Poor Bella, hope she isn't sick already:(

You should not have any physical feedback through the throttle pedal whatsoever. The 1.4 has a "fly-by-wire" system whereby the accelerator only works a rheostat and there is no physical connection to the throttle body other than electronically via the ECU. That is why it feels so light (a bit too light, in my opinion). So it is a bit difficult to understand the problem you are experiencing. Are you sure that a footwell mat is not getting snarled up with your pedal?

Thanks for your replies, I really appreciate it:)

I am girl with no knowledge of how cars work so I could be being dim. My husband is back tonight so I will get him to go out in Bella to see what he thinks. I will check the mats when I leave work later to see if they are interfering.

The weird thing is that if I am driving along and lift my foot off the accelerator and then put it back on it doesn't do it. It's only when I have just changed gear.

is your car fitted with mats? - i wonder if your hooking up the end of the mat with the clutch pedal and then flicking it down again with the accelerator?

PS Cool car:cool:

sounds to me like you are feeling the spring on the pedal as it stretches/contracts try moving the pedal with you'r hand (on the driveway) :) with you'r head in the foot well you will probably hear the spring as well as feel it, if its the spring it should go away as it gets used

Ah pants. Mr Snowball has just driven it and can't feel it so it would appear that it's in my head:(

*sigh*

I can still feel it, must be the way I drive.

He did comment on the brake pedal being noisy, sort of a hissing noise, do any of you get that?

Thanks for everyone's suggestions, very much appreciated(y)
