Chilly Air

my car does not have air con but the air comming through the vents is quite chilly compared with the outside air temp.

Have they fitted some clever little gadget to chill the air? has anyone else noticed?

No aircon just unusually cool:cool: air even on a really hot day (not that we've had many of those)

if you dont have aircon, you wont have climate control either.

I know, but was just checking!

Might just be fresh air coming in through the vent. The Panda has 2 great vents buy the windows which only let air in from the outside, and it comes straight in, doesn't even go through a matrix which can sometimes be warm even if switched to cold.

I was wondering if they had put some kind of restriction in to lower the pressure slightly as the air passes into the car thus taking some of the heat out - my carbs on my motorcycle ice up on the outside on humid days - the temp drop caused soley by the pressure drop within. just a thought

Nice Idea, but I doubt it.

No chance of that i'm afraid. Wait until you get a roasting hot day and then try it with the windows up. No aircon and you'll fry i'm afraid.

So thats why its called air "CON" ..................

Pay a large premium, use more petrol AND don,t even get a proper summer to justify it.

To be fair, it doesn't need to be that hot in order to need aircon. It just needs to be sunny. Also its very useful for demisting.

No way i'd ever buy a car without it now. I see it as essential.

Methinks theres still something trick about the venilation system - need to wait for the hot weather (whenever that will be) to do some testing.

Nothing to do with evaporation then, kike on piston engined planes, hence the requirement for carb heaters

Well, actually in the hot weather we did have a week or two back, I found the 500 to be a rather warm little car. I was quite glad of the aircon on a couple of afternoons.

I need the aircon on pretty much all the time in my Doblo. Otherwise I get the dreaded wind buffeting. It is certainly warm enough for it now.

A great safety feature, both summer and winter. In Israel it is compulsory.
