Car been with the local Fiat service garage today to have a new side rubbing strip & a new mirror glass fitted as the previous strip had never been stuck on properly & the careless supplying dealer had scratched the mirror glass whilst attempting to remove the sticky labels.

The mechanic happened to mention that he had also given my car a full inspection & put all the latest FIAT recommended updates on it. These are:

Reflash ECU with new update
Alter the angle of the handbrake cable bracket to stop it rubbing on some suspension part or other (not sure of the details)
Apply some grease or lubricant (not sure which) to some rear suspension parts to stop a rattling noise from the rear of the car apparently noticed by some owners.

He also noticed my steering was marginally askew so he tracked it for me.

I have to say the attitude, politeness, attention to detail of this particular garage is fantastic, totally the opposite of most garages I have dealt with.

They are a strange outfit really, years ago they used to be a Fiat new car dealer but when the showroom side of things closed they kept the Fiat franchise for warranty work & servicing, so their turnover is all service based. They obviously are keen to provide excellent service & as they don't sell cars, they have no axe to grind when you take a car in from another dealer.

For anyone in Greater Manchester/ Lancashire I heartily recommend them. If you want their details let me know

Because on some forums mentioning dealer names is frowned upon & if you really are interested all you had to do is ask.

Nice one - that's just down the road from my office - I think they can do my servicing! Thanks.

sounds like they really care for your car and it's well being through out it's life

it's nice to here there are people out there who care and know what there doing

most dealers will be updating the cars on pdi so most will not need doing

i always check every car for any updates that they need
