Was asked if the 1.4 would not of been better for america than the 1.2 got me thinking (Not about engine size thou, caues we did New York to San Francisco in the 1.0 panda in 2006 and it was fine) but more about the biggest killer of the trip, HEAT!

Ok, us Northern Irish lot really don't get 'THAT' good a weather to try it out but what i've seen so far coming out of the vents wasn't that impressive.

What is i like in the south of England at the min? Is it coping? My 500 is just manual Aircon and I don't have the climate.

Just wondering cause I don't want to come back smelling as bad as I did in 2006, hehe!

Yeah, ours is more than adequate really. (Manual aircon). It suffers a little in the really hot days, but it's still much cooler than outside. Must admit, these cars do seem to absorb the heat quite a bit!!

Ah... now this doesnt bode well then :(

How hot is really hot days?

Like Death Valley was between 125'F and 135'F....

(don' think you get that in Kent thou, hehe!)

We've got the climate control on our 1.4 and it is fab, never yet had clammy pits (whilst in the 500 in the really hot weather we've been having in West Yorkshire recently).

Hot????? hahahaha you should try to go to Australia when it's in the mid 40's with a hot breeze blowing and nearly 100% humidity. Then you'll know what hot is :p

Mines got climate control and it's fabulous! Put it on recirc and it cools the cold air therefore making it even colder :)

Re: How goods the AirCon? Oh and the feckin Headlights?

Ok, thats good to know....

Oh I forgot, how do you convert the lights to the LHD pattern? Beem benders? Tape?

I never even bothered on the panda last time cause it's lights are so weak and american cars are used to dazzling each other cause of the different lights spread from their lenses....

I installed the wind deflectors on mine on Saturday. The destructions said to keep the windows closed for 24 hours post installation.

Saturday was baking hot and the car was parked on a south facing driveway with its glass roof etc and was therefore like a greenhouse when we had to go out at 4.30 pm.

The climate control came on full power in about two minutes and did a great job of cooling the car down on recirc in next to no time.

It is really excellent! Far better than most cars I have had including BMs and Mercs with climate.

Yup, your right...

I got to use the Aircon in anger yesterday cause it had been sitting outside work all day in the 23'c heat and I jumped in and put everything up to max and it was really chilly in minutes!

At least I'll know I'll not cook now

Just used the recirculation switch for the first time to-day and it makes a good improvment for the air con (y)
