With all due respect that's rubbish :)

£50 for a leather gearknob? You could get a nice momo one for less :)
£100 for side stripes? Hmmmm
£100 to paint the calipers? £5 of hammerite would do the job just as well.
£50 for chrome mirrors?
£40 for key covers?
£40 for two badges for the side strips
£400 for a car cover. It is a cool idea but £400!!!!

And so on :) Now I'm not saying they're not worth it or anything as that's all up to personal preference but you're kidding yourself if you think that any of those things (bar the car cover) cost Fiat more than £10 to manufacture.

True, but when your spending (upto) £12k on a car £100 for painted calipers doesn't seem too bad :p The last thing you want when getting a Brand New car is to be whipping all the wheels off and painting them yourself!

It's not just Fiat that charge a lot for options, ALL car manufacturers do it. It is a rip-off, but unfortunately thats life! Everythings a rip-off!

My god. I've said it before. I didn't say it was a ripoff. I'm merely talking about profit margins! I'm talking about how Fiat makes it's money. Please read the thread before replying :)

oo i hate it when it goes that easily:( needs to be some more FAIL comments followed by an overload of Fail pictures that get recylced throughout the forum:p

When you're wrong you're wrong :p Just end up looking like more of an idiot if you don't admit it ;)

100 quid for painted calipers is the one thing on the list I do think is a ripoff because you could so easily do it yourself for a lot less :)

Saving 95 quid for fuel/food?

Yeah, but (like I've said above) why would you buy a Brand New car, remove all the wheels and then remove the calipers (or leave them on if you want an half arsed job) and paint them risking getting the paint all over your brand new discs/pads, when you could have had them done properly, fully painted for a ton??

Pointless argument I know, but I've painted calipers before on my old car and it was a lot of hassle, the amount of time waiting for coats to dry etc + some caliper paints don't seem to be able to withstand the heat/weather conditons, my 500's Red calipers are still like new and if the paint comes off in the next 3 years I'll get them re-painted for free by Fiat ;)

I hear from a source close to MIRA where some testing has been taking place that there are some "cracking issues" with the block in the Arbarth 500 currently..
