me hahahahaha

we have loads traded in at work over a 500 the customers an walk out with a better speked car and some cash in hand

we should make up some business cards with a picture of the 500 on and on the back it should say you fail

then post them under the wipers of minis

Irrelevant 'mate'. By the way, the price of servicing is built into the overinflated purchase price of a 'new' Mini.

By the way, nobody was comparing the 500 to a Porsche.

What I mean by that was I'm not used to having to put my car into the dealers for two weeks only to have it back partially sorted. The cars I've had either don't go wrong or it's an extreme case my FIAT being the only one (surprise surprise). Having been on here for the last couple of weeks before posting I get the impression most people seem happy to put up with Fiatisims or they have never purchased a car from a better manufacturer.

I never compared my 500 to a Porsche..... it was the service costs I was comparing

Ha Ha, Enough said !

Still, its nice to be driving a car that competes in many ways with a car that can be twice as much.
if I was being really honest I've had the honour to be able to drive Fiats other relative (Ferrari) a 360 to be exact (not mine!! I wish!!) tricked up to the max and I still say whilst I'd love one of those in my garage right next to it would be my 500 :D.

it was a friends car and he'd spent a small third world debt to make it a track only car.... the oil in it was £100.00 (or there abouts a litre) :D

I don't have any "Fiatisms" to put up with. I am very happy with my 500 thankyou:). I do sympathise that yours has some teething problems, this is a brand new model afterall.. I do hope they get sorted and you will finally be happy.

As for "better" manufacturers, they ALL have their problems - Mercedes-Benz treated me and my Brabus very badly, resulting in me finally rejecting the car.

Anyway, its Sunday night - my car is all cleaned up and shiney and lovely - I'm off on a cruise out to go and "laugh at new Minis".(y)

Nah, Dodo Juice, applied by fingers alone & buffed of with a micrfibre is the way to go

you can get car serviced any where dont have to be main dealer, any vat reg garage using oem parts will be ok.

Yep I will be getting mine serviced in house:idea (I own a Garage:nerner:)

Not sure of service schedule just yet, but as we only charge £50 per hour as opposed to dealer prices, bound to be cheaper.(y)

Cooper is a lovely car & I was very tempted by a clubman.:tempt:

But my first car was a 500 & I had to have one :worship:

Drove past a pretty little black Cooper last night on the way back from picking Dot up, but still had to snigger all the same:nerner:

its funny going past mini drivers, they just glare at it :D i can't blame them really!

i'd have a 500 over any mini any day! the amount of positive comments i've got about my car is just unbelievable....i had a car full of teenage girls waving at me the other day  now would you get that in a mini ;)

si

Actually, I DID like them both but the mini fell out of favour pretty quick when I looked at the prices new AND when I saw the 'jutting chin' syndrome that the owners seem to become afflicted with pretty quick...oh and they are always looking around to see if people are looking at them....if feel like shouting 'concentrate on driving fool!'...;)

what puts me off the (new) mini is that it doesn't seem have any proper character or charm (like the old mini), its driven by stuck up so & so's and most importantly its GERMAN :p

Sounds like a lot of 500 drivers around here!
