Hi all,

I've been following with interest and admiration most of the postings in here - the depth of your knowledge is awesome! So you might be able to help me:
I have placed order on Fiat 500 Launge in Bossa Nova white (black ambience, black/white chequered seats) with couple of extras (leather gear knob, ACC, side rubbing strip, ESP) on 29th Feb. Dealer said that I should get it by begging of Aug but hopefully even in July or better still end of June. Now I've seen here that you guys talk of 7 or 8 week builds. Thoroughly confused... Did my dealer fob me off and quoted latest possible time and then he can be very nice and surprise me with 'early' delivery?

Please help! Thanks
Mel

That seems an awful long time for your 500. Many people are or were getting 8 week deliveries but that seems to have slowed up. I was told 7 or 8 weeks and now, 7 weeks later it still hasnt got a build date, so maybe things have slowed up incredibly.
I dont mind the wait personally, but whats annoying is I was quoted 8 weeks but now they cant say when mine will be here:( Be patient and the time will pass by quicker!

i ordered last week and was told by my dealership that it will be around june time, although they cannot say for definate until they got more details, august seems an awful long time. (n)

Ive read somewhere on here that the the length of time it takes depends on your dealership, depends on how many cars each dealership has taken orders for.

Hope that helps

This is without a doubt the most asked question in the 500 section.

The simple fact is the only way to get it answered is to ask your dealership, as nobody else knows for sure.

There are a number of factors that dictate lead time:

1. The number of build slots your dealership has been allocated for each month by Fiat.
2. How many of those build slots they have already sold.
3. Whether you have ordered any delayed/limited availability options

To put it into context for you Melanabb, if your dealership had already sold all of its March build allocation before you ordered your car (which is very likely) it will be allocated an April slot etc.

A July delivery would mean a June build (which is highly unlikely as it is doubtful any dealership has sold that many already) so I would be pretty confident in saying that your car will be built in April/May and arrive in the UK in May/June.

Obviously I don't know for certain, but my experience of current 500 availability tells me I'm probably not far off.

As Mark has already said, this sounds like a case of 'under promise and over deliver' on your dealership's part.

I know:( Ive just come from playing the scramble word game on facebook for the past 2 hours, lol. My head hurts and im a little letter crazy. :bang:

I had a two month wait for mine.... Picking my Luigi baby up on tuesday :slayer:

JAN --> FEB --> MAR --> APR (only a few days away) - STILL WAITING!

i went down the dealers today and if i ordered one, it would take 12-13 weeks!

apparently though they have ones that are half-built and if they can get one of those, then get it up to the spec i want, it will only be about 6 weeks

i'd rather get mine out of the factory then i know it's all been done at once, and especially for me!:D
