500 Cabrio when?

I really like the new 500, but I would like my next car to be a Cabrio. Do you guys know when or if this is likely on the 500?

Don't know when or even if it coming out. Theres been a lot of talk about it. But talk doesn't mean it's gonna happen.

Will be interesting to see how the folding roof arrangement will affect luggage space in the boot!

But style before practicality. Ah well.

Anyone remember the Punto MK 1 Cabriolet - no unkind jokes about it especailly 'it looks like a pram'!!

If they make it a Roadster the luggage space will probably be better than the Hatchback. If they follow the Beetle/MINI and make it a Cabriolet it shouldn't be much less. If they try to make it a CC it will be non-existent.

Re: 500 Cabrio when?

Can you imagine how many folds a CC would have to do to get it down behind where the parcel shelf sits. Roof panel would have to be made of loads of slats instead of a full panel.

Agree. However, if it is going to be a CC, I'm not sure about handling as it will be a bit top heavy given 500 is quite tall.

If I do get a convertible or anything with a folding fabric roof, my main need is that it has a glass backlight, with decent resistance against leaks another need.

Do you think Fiat electrics could cope with that many motors?

Would need a trailer for the extra batteries.

Now now, how about a modern version of this?

Picture lifted off an advert on eBay. Apologies in advance to the copyholder of the picture if I've hijacked it.
