I have a small rattle/ticking noise coming form somewhere around the L/H footwell/under dash area, it's at about 3k rpm?

Get loader up to about 3k rpm, then after 4500 rpm it stops, then dosen't happen again until next time I start the car.

Pretty sure it's coming somewhere on the LHS of the bulkhead, sounds like it's inside the car, can't here it inside the engine compartment with the bonnet open.

Anyone else got this?

Not load, just annoying.

No strange noises on mine yet, Mark. Strange that it should stop and then not return until the engine is re-started - that sounds like a tricky one to track down.

It might be the engine bracket under the centre console....another FFer has a problem with it...

No, I think it's inside somewhere, sounds like it's somewhere around middle height of the LHS of the bulkhead?

OK, the noise appears to be in the water pipes to the heater matrix?????

Well, Mark, if so then perhaps -

• There is an airlock in the heater feed pipe, or -
• The noise is expansion in the heater matrix as it warms up

Just two thoughts.

As the noise dissapers once the car has gone over 4k rpm & dosen't return until the engine is turned off I thought it may be an air lock too.

So I went for a 10min drive, using the revs as much as possible.

This morning I started the car & no noise at all, it does it every morning without fail until this morning.

When in doubt introduce the needle top the redline.

It hasn't, the noise is back!!!!!! But it still diapears at 3500rpm & stays away until you switch the engine off.

It's definately being transmitted through the water pipes in the cabin.

I'm guessing it's water pump related.

cant say i have heard of it either on pandas or 500s

You know, I have never heard a service dept. say "yes, weve had that before", its always the opposite, like they never have any problems
