How do you get to be a marshall?

Despite what you may think, it's only a matter of asking someone. You live in Sydney, so the best options for you are Oran Park (but not for too long, being demolished for housing estate) and Eastern Creek. Look up the circuit in the Phonebook, or on the net, and get in contact with them. Once you are on their list they will contact you when there is an event on. After that, its just a matter of trying out the different places to work, and then deciding where you enjoy most.

What engine mods had been done to the 500s? I see the sticker says "Powered by Abarth" at the rear.

An noisy 'zorst and a publicity exercise :)

No other mods that I know of, but I could be wrong, they did move quite fast. Robbie Madden did a 2:48.8677 (113kmh av) lap, so they were moving quite quickly. They were 1400cc engines as well.

Tech A: Hey we're suppose to put these stickers on.
Tech B: "Powered by Abarth"? What's Abarth?
Tech A: No idea - just stick it on anyway.

No, they convert them back to full road spec, ie factory exhaust, delete rollcage, replace the seats (passenger's and rears) remove the stickers and i assume they will put a new set of tyres on them.

I hate to be the sucker that takes delivery of their new car thinking its just rolled off the production line..

But then again surely they can tell by the odometer?

Tech B thinks that Fiat have a new fluid drive system.:D

I would LOVE one of these cars, I would even be willing to pay a premium for oune (if I could afford a normal one :bang:)

At the 1980 AGP, there were some (11) Brock Commodores that were driven in a Race of Champions. The Race of Champions driver line-up was:

Car 1: Charlie O'Brien
Car 2: T. Edmondson
Car 3: Dick Johnson
Car 4: Bob Jane
Car 5: Kevin Bartlett
Car 6: John Bowe
(Race of Champions winner)
Car 7: Peter Brock
Car 8: Jim Richards
Car 9: D. Peroni
Car 10. Colin Bond
Car 11. Jack Brabham

A number of these cars have recently been sold, for around $100,000

Now, if the Fiats ever made this money, I'd be kicking myself for not having bought one, and even if they didn't the thrill if owning a car that has been raced on the world stage would be cool.
