Blue headlights = attention whore / chav :tosser:

Xenons = Bad idea, and shouldn't be used even as OEM (IMHO). Our roads are so bumpy that the self-levelling never works so it's like being on full beam intermittently for those around you. At best you'll blind people, at worst you will have a head-on collision as oncoming motorists can't see where they are going. Aftermarket versions are even worse, hence why they are illegal.

Standard = works well, doesn't blind people. :)

If you want brighter, get brighter full beams and make sure dip them again when you see another car coming (yes, I'm talking to you, you mad old bints in Surrey!).

Hope that clears it up :D

Couldn't agree with you more, the're almost as distracting for other motorists as rear foglight left on in clear conditions on the motorway.

I don't know about you but I was serious about taking my 500 down for a circuit or two :p

Nero! You're talking about me as though I'm some sort of 'tool of youth'! Tsk!

Sorry guys - only having a giggle. BTW what's a Tool of Youth?

I approve of the blue lights, and a soil pipe exhaust, and lowered suspension, and black wheels as well, with spinners. Then add stripes and tint the glass - oh, and don't forget a dangly Christmas tree hanging from the rear view mirror and a few amusing stickers in the back window to make us all laugh, and then leave the fog lights on to really impress....cool:D

The sad thing is through all that sarcasm i'd take:
blue lights,
lowered suspension
black wheels
tinted glass

lol!

I've just driven mine in the proper night dark for the first time. The standard lights are bloody good enough, in fact, better than ' good enough'.
Really? I don't rate them at all... and that's from someone coming from a Ford Ka, not some xenon specced Audi or BMW. Main beam is useless, there's such little extra illumination over dipped that I don't know if it's even worth putting them on main beam. :(

I would check that they are coming on, I normally drive a Pickup with headlamps, spotlamps and floodlamps, and while the cinq is not as good as the truck, they are certainly perfect for night driving at the National speed limit.

The dips give a good spread of white light, the mains add distance.

Cheers

something interesting, as i mentioned in another thread; jeremy clarkson reviewed the 500 for the sunday times (http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/driving/jeremy_clarkson/article3504933.ece)
however towards the end of the article one negative point he mentions of the 500 is:
"The looks are so wonderful, in fact, that you probably won’t care about the drawbacks. But there are a few. The headlights are hopeless, you really can’t see what’s coming from the left at oblique junctions,.."
now how many articles have you read that criticise lights. its something usually overlooked or not even considered worth talking about so this may be a real problem in this case.
blue chav lights anyone? :D:p
