Hello there fellow FIVE HUNDREDIANS,

I have decided to move on from a 56 plate Grande Punto M-Jet Sporting to an even cooler motor vehicle...

It would seem that my 500 shall be the most kitted out 500 possible in the UK market..

I have today bought a Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet Sport with the following options :

Pasadoble Red
Red Leather and Black Ambience
15" 2 tone Sports Alloys
Side Mouldings inc space for Italian 500 badge
Chrome Wing Mirrors
White Side Stripe
Climate Control
Auto dipping Rearview Mirror
Sky Window
Parking Sensors
ESP
Side Skirts
Front Spoiler
Rear Dam Valance
Chrome Bonnet Strip
Black Clothes Hangar
Italy badge on Wing
Italia Key Covers
Carpets

Total £14,124

Was given £8000 part exchange for my 56 Plate 25k Mileage Grande Sporting which I'd say is awesome for a car that isn't in the best condition and should really at most be worth £7k

What do you think?? Have I had a good deal?

I'm guessing and hoping that everyone else has paid RRP for their 500 cos of Fiat wanting to ensure the resale value is good... (I was told if Fiat catch a dealership discounting a 500 they'll be terminated)

The estimated delivery is End of April/May

Wow that's one hella specced car! I love it :D

Sounds like you got a pretty good trade-in on the Sporting - well done! (y) Everyone's paying the list price... that way you usually get a better trade-in value. Some are also getting a few bits and bobs thrown in, but don't expect anything more than mats or key fobs :)

Any idea when your little 500 is due in the UK?

sorry to burst your bubble (im kinda mean like that) BUT you havent seen this then.
£42,000. the guy doing the auction sounds soo funny. enjoy.

Good luck on the car, hope you like the kit more than I did. I changed my mind on it, might get a non-fiat kit instead, plus you will have a long wait on the 15'' 2-tone alloys, hope you have a lot of patience (y)

it aint worth that money, your in for a big shock in the depreciation stakes ounce the hype goes away.just silly money for a fiat 500.as for performance m-jet=500 not even worth comparing.would have kept the gp and waited for abarth 500.a fool and his money are easily parted:confused:

Surely only a fool if the depreciation is bad and he bought the car as an investment?

What about that guy in Saudi who just spent £7Million on a personalised number plate:eek:

Now THAT's a fool, £14000 on a 500 aint foolish, just shows he gets what he wants is all.

hey £14k isnt at all a bad price to pay. youre getting everything u want and a great deal on the part exchange on top of that.. (not that i want to start 500 vs mini war but a mini would cost even more with less spec - and the mini is 'crap' compared to 500 - and the mini is old and tired looking - and the mini is well u get my point)
only thing is you have soooo long to wait. patience isn't a virtue i posses!

I paid 14K for mine, so you're not on your own paying that sort of money - have had it for about 10 days and don't regret a penny!

Not sure if I class as a fool or not but couldn't care less - I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford it and I think it's great. If I decide to trade in for an Abarth SS (undecided now - was definitely going to, but rather underwhelmed by the release photos etc) then I'll take a hit on depreciation, but that's life. I bought it knowing that and no matter what I decide to do, I have a fabulous car in the mean time!

Same situation for me, this was my one chance to get what I wanted as I sold my current car for more than 14k and my original spec was over 14k for the 500, so I had the chance to order pretty much what I wanted.

Life is too short to worry about things like depreciation, but I think we all know the resale on the 500's should be pretty fair, so make the most while you can I say. My car wont be an investment, it will be my toy.

I'm jealous!!! People will always say "for that money you could off bought a blah blah blah" but they're just envious. If it'll make you happy then who cares what it cost!!!

Sounds nice. I was just quoted £600 just for painting and fitting the front and rear dams and side skirts.

Hello All,
Your really all going to hate me and yes I'm stupid.. I'm having second thoughts with my order due to the performance of 500 M-Jet.. I've paid £500 deposit

I hadn't had a test drive in the 500 M-Jet prior to ordering - I had driven a 1.4 Sport at a dealership in Italy last year.. I very much like the current power I have in the 130 M-Jet Grande - I always know theres power there if I need it.

I really do like the 500 especially the specced version I have on order. I thought I'm gettring a car exactly how I'd like it and if the performance I don't like then I'll look at having a Remap ; a new Exhaust ; K&W / Eibach Suspension and a 1.3 M-Jet 16v BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox from Nuova500Shop.com which will be something like a £1000...

Do we think this will reliably boost the performance in real world scenarios similar or better than what I currently have? I'm one for power and I'm one for driving across Europe so will these modifications be reliable for that?

THEN with the modifications what impact will that have on insurance?!
I'm 23 with currently 1yrs no claims (A sore subject!! - Somebody pulled out on me when I was on a main road and yet I still lost no claims for it)

From Confused.com the quote was £550 without the mods... I know I'm going a bit crazy with the 500 specs so you must be thinking I'm pretty well off to worry about the modded insurance quote.. but unfortunately this isn't quite true..

Then my best friend recommends ditching the 500 order and get a Bravo T-Jet Sport with a few options... Confused.com came up with £670 insurance quote with £800 excess (yes high excess but grp10 car being £100 more than Grp5 ?!) and the majority being £900

I do think the Bravo is a tasty car too.. but I do like my options..

Am i being foolish?? What are your thoughts on this?

P.S : Eco Baby - I was quoted £200 for painting and fitting for all three bits...
