Well
I am sorry to say that it looks like I may be reclaiming my deposit on the Sport I ordered

I had a call last night from the dealer that Fiat will not allow the 100W Sub to be ordered on line for manufacture. It appears that they have decided to remove this option.
How many more options are they going to take away?

The fact that it is not on the UK configurator but in the printed literature that both the dealer and myself have appears to make no difference to a large motor manufacturer. :bang:

I have also heard that if the alloys requested that were not available, the factory just sends out the car with other alloys. The new owners appeared not to be bothered and took their cars.
Maybe that tale should have rung alarmbells, and I should have not left the order, However given I dont want the car till Spetember, I have agreed to leave the order till 1st of July to see if Fiat change thier minds and will put it in, If not then £500 returned and custom goes elsewhere. :(

I dont want to fit an aftermarket sub to the car, as one factory fitted will be tidily installed. (hopefully) also it may be a while after receipt of the car that a compatible and neat aftermarket unit is available.

Its wait and see now.

While I feel your pain with regard to the subwoofer issue I wouldnt let it sour your choice of getting a 500. (y)

I dont know about the alloy issue but if you have chosen the 420's for example the build date for your car wont be confirmed until they have those particular alloys in stock and as far as I am aware the same reasoning would apply to any other options.

I cant see how the factory would just put on other alloys because they dont have the ones ordered in stock but maybe I am wrong, but it doesnt make sense to me . I am not contradicting what you are saying but my build date was delayed until the alloy I wanted were back in stock.

I am sure The Beast or Scrogg would know more but I think this is the case

I had an interesting call from customer care, I quized them about matter, including about the audio upgrade & suggested they take things that are not available off the configurator.

They have however offered to fit it FOC (I pay the £250 upgrade cost and they pay labour & additional parts req'd) once it's available as when I ordered in October there was no mention of it not being available.(y)

Factory wouldn't send out cars with incorrect alloys as the car would be highly likely to be rejected because it is not what was ordered.

With regards the sub woofer issues Scrogg will be the man to answer that one. I do not have access to the bulletins unless I request information from them. Scrogg is management I believe so has more access to this sort of thing than a salesman in my group.

Majority of the information I have is from either the 500 training course or from here.

I had the same problem with my car as I put down deposit before UK launch announced. When I did spec the car I was told no Sub and 420 not available, so I've got stuck with Lounge wheels! Dealer didn't know his A from E. Gutted.

Thats weird. I ordered my car about a week or 2 before launch with the 420's and it only delayed my build from a week 7 to a week 8, so not long at all

they told me no sub either.. i CAN'T wait for car so ordered without it. one day ill try and fit my own with the help of all of you :D

So does anyone know if there is currently available a 3rd party sub that fits, or if there is 1 in the pipeline ?

Been hunting and I may have a solution, ( kindly spotted by stundies ) but would like expert assesment around whether it will fit under the drivers seat ,it has dimensions, so would be grateful if some kind salesman/ 500 owner can answer the question.

There has not been any official announcement that this option is no longer available.

I haven't actually tried ordering a car with this option lfc958, so maybe your dealership are correct in that the system will not allow it to be ordered, but that doesn't mean it never will.

As far as I'm concerned, until Fiat announce that any options are not going to be available they still are.

That's ridiculous! Every sales Exec should be given all this sort of information as and when it is announced.

Is it any wonder we are criticised for not knowing what is happening when there are Sales Managers out there that don't tell their staff everything they need to know?

Same here! ;) :p

I specced mine up either early Jan or late December - can't quite remember. Dealer didn't think 420 were available at all even though they actually were back then.

Scrogg

Thanks, youve said exactly the same as the salesman at the dealership, he might not be able to do it now, but may be able to later , he did come across that he didnt want me to take my custom elsewhere .

I will now be getting my sub, fitted at factory, dealer confirmed today that he can now put ticks in order boxes for it.
