I was nosing about the 500 in a showroom the other day and I noticed the front brake pipes in the wheel arch come down "in front" of the shock absorber, rather than looping from behind it, as in the Panda.

In the Panda, this gives the pipe plenty of clearance away from the front cross-member, whereas on the 500 it seems that the brake pipes are resting on the cross-member.

I can't see how the brake pipe won't fret against the cross-member and wear through, in time.

Any 500 owners, have a look and you'll see what I mean. I'd get some rubber or plastic tube (or just PVC tape) and stick it on the brake pipe at that point, to protect it.
