Although we have an ipod in the house, rather than faff about with mounts etc I was going to get a couple of 4 Gb memory sticks, one for me, one for the missus. Then copy the desired mp3's onto the stick and play using the Blue & Me. Has anyone tried this and does it work, any issues or is it simply plug and play?

Sorry can't answer this for sure, but I was just wondering exact same thing. Taking into account how XP works (or doesn't:p) I would assume that it would just be plug and play.

I would, however, make sure that your 4gb stick is completely formatted, ie not auto run programs which initiate as soon as you plug em in...like the sandisk autorun in their 4gb titanium. etc.

But yeah, usb stick is far neater,...definitely(y) the way to go

hi

Have tried this in my gp with blue and me and you can use different memory sticks only thing is everytime you change the stick it takes a few mins for the system to build the media library but after that all works fine

hope this helps

Thanks.

Can the music be organised in folders as it is on the computer or does it have to be a series of mp3's in one folder?

i just have mine all on the stick as i ripped them, so each album is on its own, but from previous experiance you can put everything in different folders under the artists names and that works

That was my other option! Get a small SD card reader and put all my music onto SD cards. That way it's really discrete and you can have different cards for different moods and playlists! :D

Also for cheap memory check out www.svp.co.uk :)

I have a 4gb Sandisk memory card, and whilst test driving today I tried my SD in the USB slot, set the radio to AUX and hey presto nice loud music.

The track title show up just below the clock on the dash, and the up/down controls on the steering wheel changes tracks.

The 100w sub on my order should allow the Rock music to rock the car. :slayer:

dude, why did you have to set the radio to aux? It's not an itrip, shoulda just played through the USB right?
