Surely it will only deter opportunists if they actually know one is fitted?

In which case, why not just put stickers on the window saying an alarm is fitted and save a few quid? :p

Thieves ain't stupid (well most) and are well aware of the fake stickers available on the market & capable of spotting A pillar ultrasonic sensors....so they move on to someones car which has obviously fake stickers!

Personally preference, I don't like car alarms. They can often be tempremental and just annoying. The 500's got deadlocks hasn't it? It'll be pretty hard to steal and get going and like Scrogg said, too much hassle and too lower value for 'professional' car thieves. I wouldn't bother - but it's something that can be added at any time :)

Zakkala; I won't go into details, but thanks for your consideration. My angst refers back to a time a long, long, time ago, when a very prattish prat was very rude to me, and unable to understand why. Thanks for your understanding, I like Fiats a lot by the way.

Ulpian - no problem; and glad you like Fiats! Hopefully I'll be posting some photos of my new 500 over the weekend once I've picked it up, so come back and visit!

Your car - your choice,me...i'd prefer a alarm than a leather steering wheel!

Just to add to it, I hate alarms... had one on my MR2 and it kept going off, so I took it off and chucked it in the garage. The Golf Ive just bought the wife has a tempremental one too, so might rip that one out... nasty things they are:)

Suazexed: I haven't a clue who you are, but thanks. Unless I am really, I mean really, pissed off by some silly bu**er, I'll shut up. Tomorrow I will be sober, and more measured, and more silent, I hope...

Well the last car i had a bravo hgt 155 and present car bravo 1.9jtd hlx both have intergrated alarms to the key fob ,so thats 4 and a half years worth !!!and never have i had 1 single false alarm !!
The one time the hgt alarm went off was when about 3.10am when some scum bag smashed a window and sped off ,i know because i shouted from the window at them ! would of caught them but they were on bikes!!:(
Anyway peace of mind for me and i will be having one in the 500 when it arrives(y)
