Blimey, looks like I started something here!

As someone said - at least they didn't bodge it. I did specifically ask if there was any damage and was told absolutely not, so I'm happy from that point of view. I guess I'm just frustrated that they couldn't get english instructions faxed to them rather than having to wait until next week - but I'm sure there's a reason and I'll let you know when I've spoken to them today.

And it is the first 500 they've played with, so I knew I was a guinnea pig! The salesman was kind of apologetic so we'll just see how it goes when I pick it up today.

Will report back tonight!

PS - I know how the service guys feel; my mum bought some diffuser / misting fragrance thing in France and brought it back last year, expecting me to be able to translate the construction and usage instructions because I did A Level French about 14 years ago!

Sounds like it is a cracker, Zakkala :D

Bet you can't wait, up nice and early as well ;)

As for wellfan's comments, just ignore him - I did :)

What a sensitive lot of wee souls you are on this forum. I never intended to offend or upset anyone with any of my comments. Just giving honest opinion. Imagine getting a warning e-mail from the moderator for my posts, beggars belief.
If anyone has been 'upset' then they need to get a life. Anyway, I'll head back to the Grande Punto forum where the big boys hang out.

:confused:Zakkala:
If yours is a yellow 500 Sport coming from Autoworld Chesterfield,
If so, I saw it this morning whilst visiting Travis Perkins
(builders merchants round the back).

Very nice indeed. I just put pics on nf500.

If I can add a possible explanation....chance are (from my experience) the alarm wasn't ordered until a day or two before delivery date, car has to be PDI'd & cleaned etc....leaving tech with little time to fit alarm (I had same issue on a new bravo) & as fiat technical cant realy help with this type of enquiry & the alarm manufacture only operates a phone helpline which is constantly engaged or not answered then there was little the tech could do expect learn Italian. To be honest even so the diagrams should really be enough but I have not fitted a 500 alarm so will not comment on this particular point.

Best to get car out on time agreed & finish it at time suitable for customer, prefably colect/deliver so customer not inconvienced.

Yep, that's my baby! Absolutely gorgeous I have to say - not got many pics yet, but here's a couple. Lovely drive - very nippy, handles well and got an awful lot of looks from people! If you've got any questions, I'll be happy to try and answer them.

Awww that's bloody nice(y) Congrats. Is that a red leather interior I'm glimpsing through the windscreen?

The bodykit looks great and is complimented well by the side rubbing strips. Love the chrome bonnet strip and a bar, think I'll have to do that myself!

Thanks for posting those pics. It looks absolutely perfectamente!

I would really like to know how it is to live with, I know I'll be fervently reading anything people can post about their ownership experience.

Bravo Zakkala

Zakkala I have got to say that looks stunning are you pleased with it? Linda has ordered a lounge 1.2 in cha cha cha azure without the side strips and with 15 inch multispokes but the alloys you have on your car we really think they look great as you have taken a picture side on whereas the fiat website isn't fully side on so you can't appreciate how good they look. Linda is now confused as she was going multispoke as she feels it looks more retro and I agree with her but we think they might be a nightmare to clean, so she is thinking of going for the ones you have they are the 15 inch aren't they but she is still not sure? Also we think the cars lines look better without the side strips but again seeing yours she really likes them and so do I as I am sure they will offer a bit of door banging protection as well so now she is totally confused! Thanks for that Zakkala you have been no help to us at all:D

Always glad to cause confusion!

Yep - wheels are 15"; I did want the 16" version of those wheels but was told it would delay the order so went with these. They're fine and give a good ride, so no regrets.

Enjoy debating your spec!

Zakkala I forgot to ask we haven't driven a 1.2 and as the performance is the same on lounge and sport how does it feel, I know they are not fast cars but does the power it has feel quite nippy bearing in mind it will get better when the engine has loosend up. What's your opinion of the cd player is the sound system ok on it.

Mine's a 1.4 so haven't driven a 1.2 I'm afraid. Mine is nippy, handles well and is supprisingly effective! Haven't tried the CD player as yet - have connected iPod instead; sound quality is good but using the voice recognition to choose tracks is going to take some getting used to!
