Hello all, glad to have found this forum as very much looking forward to buying a 500 and the info on here has so far been invaluable so thanks!

Quick question,my local dealer is quoting delivery for May if I order now. We have sold our exisiting car so will be in a pickle if we let it go and then have to wait til May.

Does any one know if there any dealers able to offer earlier delivery than May? We're after a 1.4 Sport in either black white or red.

Dont fancy paying over the odds to one of the brokers (just think its wrong) and dont expect to just walk out of a showroom with one either but am hoping that a dealer somewhere may have pre-ordered a few on spec and has a few delivery slots to fill in the next couple of months.

Here's hoping!

Try Motorvogue in Northampton. They have a red sport in their showroom with 16" multispokes and red leather/black ambience which I don't think is sold. It may have the white chequered roof graphics as well but can't be sure. I'm not sure what engine it is but think it's a 1.4.

my dealer in london, uxbridge road, said they still have stock available for around the 3rd week of march. maybe speak with them. the dealer closer to me in london southgate quoted a may/june delivery so didnt bother ordering from there...
only if you want a sunroof, automatic or funk white then you will need to wait longer i think.

Scrogg, asked for a stock list to be sent over from your garage earlier and it hasnt appeared (Charlotte, girl in my office asked for it) Any chance you could send asap? Let me know if you need the fax number again. Thanks

One of our local dealers is expecting 10 assorted cars end of March for stock, he's currently trawling through them to see if any of them match our spec.

I guess other dealers will have ordered some typical specs for stock

Speak to Matt Bates at Coventry Fiat, he has a number of 500's incoming for stock.

I have seen the list but not any of the 500's matched my requirements so I ordered one even if it won't be until May before I take delivery.

Ahh! It makes sense now!

I haven't looked on here today, so was wondering where the enquiry had come from.

The numpty that took the message wrote the number down wrong, so I've not been able to return your call :(

mind you, its a fairly small dealer, maybe they dont keep stock?
If they're small they will probably only have a small allocation, so may well have sold them all before they become fixed for production and don't need to make a list.

The only reason I've done one is because I managed to 'acquire' some extra cars that had already become fixed before I got them.

That sounds right, yes.

New orders go through a couple of stages before they are built.

'Heavy Variability' when you can change pretty much anything (except the engine on 500 for some reason) then 'Light Variability' when you can change the colour or add/remove options.

'Heavy' to 'Light' should take about 2 weeks, but it seems to be much quicker (and much more random) with the 500; and then it should go into production about 2-3 weeks after changing to 'Light'.

It's just clicked after replying to your post about a standard car being already built; if your order can have anything apart from the engine changed, it's most likely a February/March build, so it shouldn't be affected by those 'Gremlins'! ;)

Looks like one of our local dealers may have one very close to our spec arriving for stock in March.......might not be such a long wait after all. (y)
