OK, i don't want to complain, I love the 500 after all :)worship: --> 500) .. but something is bugging me.
you get nice & comfy in your perfect seating position but now you've got to let your mate in the back - no problem, just lift the latch, slide the seat forward (mate jumps in), push the seat back and oh no its stuck there. why won't it go back to where it came from ????? :''(
I'm not the tallest but even I have a problem squeezing into a tiny space before pushing the seat back. I showed the dealer and he had no idea it did this. on the options list there is the option for a mechanical memory but nobody at the dealer could provide any info about this.
Does anyone have any clues about it? my previous cars had this 'memory' and with the 500 being so clever i think it should too!
 
I found that as well. when I was looking at one at the dealers and moved the seat i thought I broke it and walked off, felt guilty came back and figured it out i think the chair has to slide fully back before pushing the back of the seat down.

also just looking on the eper at the seats. On the drivers part number 8 it says that its a drawer. Is it an actual draw/storage compartment under the seat? or is it just a part?

I thought the memory worked like this: Pull the lever and and pull it forward to exit, if u then slide the seat back whilst the seat-back was still in the open position then pulled the lever and pushed the seat-back to vertical it was all in its original position again ?

ummm, im not sure. i was playing with seat and it just would not go back to original position. i know u can keep sliding back and forward seems very fiddly. with the clio i currently have you just lift the latch and once the person is in the car, just push the seat softly for it to return to it's original backrest and seat position.
anyway, someone from fiat central called me 10mins back to ask how my test drive was - i asked him about the mechanical memory which he says is only available for passenger seat by the way??? I Don't understand him.
also asked him about the leather gear knob. in the brochure the knob is alone in leather with no numbers on top of it. in other pics (eg. below), it comes with a metal plate attached to the leather gear cover which has numbers on it. the man from fiat said it didn't. I Don't believe him.

hmmm yup i guess.. thats a good thing then :D. its impossible really for the 500 to be annoying! i say we now start a petition to cancel Feb. make March come faster!


- does anyone like the look of the gearknob then with this random looking metal plate? it kinda looks out of place. im getting the ivory gearknob but this plate, its like it always staring at me..:eek:

I will check for you. When you buy the leather gearknob as an accessory you get the top gearknob part. You don't get a whole new gaitor aswell, so if they do provide you with a little plate you'll have to stick it on yourself. If you order the gearknob from the factory they may well stick/stitch the little plate on there automatically.

I'm going to add a leather gearknob at some point, which I will buy from my local dealer. If it does come with a plate there's no way I'll be using it!

nope as shown above it goes back to position you had it in so you dont have to mess about trying to find position it was originally in.
 
The Micra I had was really bad, everytime you opreated the tilt mechanism the cable snapped... Nissan eventually fitted a thicker cable, all that then happened was the end of the cable pulled itself out of its housing:(
So, the 500 has to be better:)
