Folks,

Can anyone who has ACC on their 500's please tell me what you think about it?

How is it superior to air conditioning? The £250 for the ACC isn't an issue having ordered my 500 Sport for delivery early May.

Will change spec with dealer next week if I am convinced of its positives (and negatives)

Thanks

My last 3 cars have had CC [Ulysse, Stilo and Panda 100HP] - I wouldn't want to go back to normal AirCon.

With CC, you set the temperature, and the whole system regulates it, without having to adjust temp, fan speed, etc.

Each to their own, so the choice is yours.

I've never had aircon so standard aircon is far more than enough for me. If I get too hot I move the temperature dial to a bit, if it's gets too cold I'll turn it the other way. I'd prefer to do that and keep £250 in my pocket :)

We have had the climate control in our panda and have not bothered with it in our order for a new 500. We just find it fussy to use and can never get quite where you want it. So it's a 1.2 with just plain old air-con for us

Love the way the climate control panel sits almost flush wit the dash, improves the overall look and imo is better than the deep cutting switch gear of the air con.

Also I find climate control far preferable as it's basically fire and forget...don't like having to constantly adjust

Just goes to show how preferences vary. We prefererred the rounded switch gear as the cc looked too flat for the style of the dash. As my wife constantly adjusts the climate control in her Alfa from cold to hot to cold to hot it seemed little point :bang:

Cheers

Agreed. I'm also not a great fan of the look of the air cons dials in the ivory trim.

agree with you suasexed i had cc in my previous golf, the new one has normal air con and i do prefer normal the cc was just a bit of a faff and i really don't think it's worth an extra £250 which i would rather keep in my pocket, but we are all different so it you like it go for it :D

Ive had both AC and CC in the past and I think that the CC is so much better that Ive upgraded the POP to include CC. CC tend not to break down quite so much as its in constant use where as AC get used only in summer and if you forget to run it in the winter the seals leak and its forever needing a regas.

The CC is only on if you turn it on, same as aircon. If you use CC without operating the compressor etc then it will still fail if not used.

Folks,

Thanks for all your feedbacks. It looks like everyone has differing opinions!

Nonetheless, I've asked my dealer to change the spec to include ACC - having had to cross leather seats off because it can't be ordered with 50/50 rear seats in the Sport :bang:.

This was taken on the Fiat stand at the Geneva Show - Fiat branded clothing!!
