Looking forward to finalising the spec of our 500, but has anyone seen what the Italian roof stripe looks like?

We're going for the Passo-Red option on a Sport and quite fancied the idea of the Italian flag, but not sure if the red of the stripe would either disappear or clash horribly with the red of the car. Any ideas?

Nice choice! I quite like the Italia roof stripe. I've not got any photos of a Pasedoble Red 500 with the Italia stripe, but here's a few of a white one :) Hope that helps!

Thanks for the pictures! It gives a much better idea of the stripe than on the paper "wheel of fortune" our dealer provided to show all the different stripes and stickers. I hadn't realised it was so broad a stripe.

Still not sure what the red would look like, but perhaps if no-one has ever seen it, it means it might not look too good? Or perhaps it would just mean we had a unique car.

Anyway thanks for responding so quick.... we were hoping to finalise our purchase tomorrow.

Suasexed is great with the pictures....saved me alot when deciding on leather(y)

Also a few other different colours with the Italia stripe :)

That's brilliant Suasexed - thanks so much... :worship:

I think you might have saved us from making a mistake. I'm thinking the red of the stripe doesn't really set off the red of the car and I really do want a red Sport. I think we'll go for the understated look and give the stickers a miss.

Perhaps we'll look at the A frame instead (we're having the chrome kit).

Just sooo many choices to make!!

Whatever you do don'y buy a 1.2 in Jive blue with....

Blue & Me
Blue & Ivory seats
Ivory leather steering wheel
Rear headrests
Ivoey edged mats
Fragrence dispenser
iPod holder
Chrome "A" Bar
Chrome kit
Chrome bonnet line
Side rubbing strips with chrome 500 badge
433 Alloys
Italian wing badges

As that would look awfull........:D

Yes, thanks, it's a great thread - seeing "real life" pictures really helps.

We're sticking with the grey/black standard interior, rather than going for leather - the budget won't quite stretch to that.

No problem matey :) :) I agree, not sure about the Italia roof stripe. It definitely clashes with the red paintwork. Here are a few different styles of stripes you could have including a custom chequred roof/bonnet stripe ;)

I really like the Italian roof strip on the red car! Reminds me of Ferrari F360 Challange Stradale.(y)

It's been great seeing so many photos - I like the look of the one with the custom stripe - not one of the options on the Fiat website though. I don't think I'd go for the side stripe - there's going to be a lot of them around once the dealers sell off the test drive models and I'm probably showing my age, but it reminds me a bit of Starsky and Hutch's car....

Hmmmmmm......stickers on cars to 'personalise' them? It's taken the FIAT Group a couple of decades to get their paint to stay colour fast.:chin:

Bad enough having the dealer's sticker on the rear window and their post code on your number plate as free advertising.

Something to be said for 'less is more' at times.

But hey, you pay's your money and takes your choice.

Oh....and yes the tri-colour italian flag does clash with the red.

Enjoy it when you get it.(y)

Is there no limit to Suasexed's picture gallery? Hell, he even has pictures of the Fiat in the Romford showroom, unfortunately the classic 500 next to it (for sale) was a bit much to consider, purely to have them both lookin sexy in the driveway. :( Thanks so much, i couldn't find many good pics of the 500 around, but yours are brilliant. I quite like that Italia stripe too. Very nice indeed (though i'm not sure if the 500 logo in the middle is too large)

I have the Italian flag roofstripe, but was a bit disappointed that it didn't go down the bootlid or over the sunroof. I may get a racecar sticker firm to extend it for us.

I agree, go faster stripes are generally a no-go, but for some reason they look great on the new 500. :)

Sorry Gordini - got your name wrong in my new post (cost price). I think the stripe looks great against the black, but I did wonder what happened along the roof and down the back of your car.
