Without knowing that, which clearly you don't, it is an impossible question for anyone on here to answer definitively.

You need to speak to your dealership.
Only thing I'd add is. The quicker the better aswell. For all we know you might only have days to make the choice.

Get onto your guy as soon as possible, and then again first thing Monday.

Re: Ok, This is kinda embarrasing...

I've been in contact with Mark on another forum and then I find this place and see he's here too. Another guy from the other forum has joined too this morning and he's already got his car. Funny thing is we've all got different names on this forum from the other!

Will try contacting my dealer today as I emailed him over a week ago about PXing my 04 plate 156 1.9mjet 140 Veloce SW, which I bought from them but have heard nothing back since!

Re: Ok, This is kinda embarrasing...

Thanks a lot guys for the post, this forum rocks. Defo gonna donate something (small) upon delivery

Despite my late night doubts, I've had a long discussion with my better half and we've come to the conclusion that we'll stick with our order and go for the diesel.

Yes it IS a huge price difference, but the diesel is supposed to be very very good, and yes the extra torque is always great to have... that and the economy, (although it'll take five years at filling up every 10 days to pay for itsel at 107p per litre)...and it's quiet for an oil burner...

Plus I just can't wait and I don't want even to suspect that changing the engine will put weeks onto delivery times...

I just phoned my dealer again a few minutes ago to check on the variability numbers that Sua was talking about but he says there are no admin staff so he can't tell me anything.......can't he get into the order with his password?

O well

That's a strange one, I wouldn't think it would need an admin staff to access that info.

Another thing to consider with the Multijet; is it will have a higher resale value compared to the 1.2 so you should get some of the inital premium when you come to sell it

Generally, it is only Sales Administrators (that don't work on Saturday) and Sales Managers (that often don't work on Saturday. Well, they actually don't work much at all, but that's a different conversation! ) that have access to that sort of system, so it's not unrealistic for a Sales Exec to say he can't get in today.

Ahh I see I'm so used to dealing with the creme-dela-creme I take it all for granted!
