General who went to any dealerships today for the launch?

Ring your local dealership up as the test drives are mainly being booked for this weekend. The unveiling was good, a few wines, sarneis and chats, but there were only a few drives tonight ;-)

It was a pleasant evening over in Gloucester... lots of drinks flowing and a rather marvellous Italian buffet. The connection to the London link up went a bit dodgey here and there, but yeah it was worth a trip to the dealer and got chatting to a few people which was nice! :D

Went to Foxfields of Wigan, organised by Orange127Sport, (thanks bud). We had his lovely little "G"-plate 850 Coupe, a Marea SW, a Panda 1000 a red Sei Sporting and my Panda MJT. We generally had a pretty good time, apart from the jobsworth organising the parking, but, can't have everything. Oddly enough, after a quick look at the 500s, our lot could be found staring at a TV playing a video of old FIAT ads going back to the 131 Mirafiori and Argenta of the '70s. It's an age thing you know.

Anyway, I think we all enjoyed ourselves and it was good to put faces to names. Almost all of which I've forgotten. Told you it was an age thing.

Now then, who am I? Where am I? What am I doing here?

Daughter and I went to Park's at East Kilbride. Very poor turnout, but it was a very cold night (wimps). Was talking to the salesman and they had sent out 2500 invitations. I reckon there was less than 50 folk there.

Gave plenty of time and space to look at the cars (bit late, mine is being built about now). There were no drives on the night, after the unveiling two other cars were wheeled in from the used car area behind.

Cheers

D

I went up to Parks in East Kilbride with my sister and i must admit it was a good night.

Not many people turned up, i would say around 50 (loads of sales guys there though lol)

The buffet was nice with a selection of Italian foods along with drinks.

As for the 500, well it is a really nice car but i don't think i would swap my Panda 100HP for it. I just dont think i could justify the price difference between the Panda and the 500, but overall a very nice car.

Another note to add, i think i conviced someone to buy a Panda 100HP instead of a 500 Sport lol

I went to TJ Vickers in Telford, i'd say it was a good turnout, lots of free drink and italian food. The live link up to london wasn't fantastic we lost sound at about 7:57 so never heard any of it, wasn't really a bad thing as Mika was singing. As for the 500, i wasn't fully convinced, don't get me wrong the car looks fantastic and is deffinatly a step forward for fiat and also a serious contender for the mini. But its just litle things that are abit disappointing like: No glovebox, No city button if you have a sport, Big electric window buttons, Cream interior on the lounge model (will be filthy in 2 years) and also what is going on with them headrests they look like giant jelly tot sweets. They are my personnel opinions so feel free to agree and disagree.

I'm with you on that one mate...........perhaps the 500 Abarth might do it:chin:

As for launch.....went to Arnold's in Paisley - three cars, dodgy London launch link (mind you I was happy to view the cars without MIKA bellowing in my lug hole), soggy sandwiches & olives which looked a bit 'pre-registered' in my opinion and a bottle of Peroni. Better Italian theme in my local chippy. Oh and a free 1/43 scale toy 500 - hope it holds it's value. Already had a test drive in the 1.4 sport the previous weekend so not fussed for another run.

I do think they'll be popular - certainly more than the HP - looking forward to showing the retro FIAT converts a clean pair of heals.

I saw that Parks had an Electroclash Grey HP in the showroom the last time I was there - don't buy that one - the 'FIAT' badge on the rear was squint.

i went the day after the launch arnold clark...

the sales man told me that the launch was abit of a flop apparently not many people turning up.

anyway i had 2 sales men tryin 2 sell me a 500 by bein extra nice to me even tho i preety much said "i have no money" hahaha and just wanted to have a look, end of story and they didnt take the hint.

i love it, the interior especially is gorgeouse. there was a white sport with italy stripes going across and i fell in love with it. abit girly but really funky. very spaciouse even for 4 seats, i loved the bucket sport seats and dash and chrome detailing.

deffninely better looking than the mini in my oppinion. the sales man told me that my mk2b active sport is worth £2500! andits only got 20.000 miles on it. i laughed at him and said no thankx. as they was selling a blue 04 punto for 5 thousand.

anyway i think its really nice and tempting but il stick to my punto :)

SGM at Southampton, good evening, about 50 or turned up while I was there, no glove box? I think thats been moved to under the passenger seat, and there is a flap above the glove hole that will take a Satnav or phone etc.
