Well unfortunately my girlfriend has now seen a 500 and adores it to a previously unknown level that even Louboutin shoes cant reach....
So...do I go down with her to look at trading the GP in for one? It wont come for ages thats the main problem, but I have several questions for those that have experienced them:
Does it drive properly, ie, have they managed to make it ride smoothly, even on 16 inch wheels, I dont mind hard, but is it well controlled and damped?
As a comparison with a GPS say, which is hard in a straight line but rolls way too much in the corners, very odd.
Also, the model she fancies is a 1.4 Lounge, is this more like the Starjet engined GPS, smooth and quiet, or the one thats in the Panda 100hp ie better noise and more fun?
And to anyone who knows, is this car actually based on the Panda, and therefore does that mean well proven underbits?
She has never gone for the Mini which I think is great to drive but far too girly for me to ever have one, or the Panda HP which she says is a wardrobe, this is a big deal because its the only car she has ever seen which she actually makes a fuss over, and actively wants rather than just a form of transport.
I personally think its a great looking thing that im sure is very competant, but I dont want another Fiat fiasco. Opinions please on who thinks this may well be the best small Fiat yet, and who thinks its an underdeveloped marketing tool. Most roadtests are of the opinion it doesnt drive particularly well, which is the main thing to me anyway, however ive never been one to trust the like of WhatCar too much!
