Yeah yeah... ..It IS a great looking cute little car. I'm gonna have to sit down with the salesman and go through exactly what I want, get an ETA on the delivery and if it's too long go for an a-class and exchange it for a 500 a year down the line...anyway, I'll post my experiences on the Dealer thread. Cheers for the feedback guys.

Also went to MB and looked at the A-class....ooo tempting....Fiat a lot more fun looking but could be dare I say it... a little....gay?
Well it is the official European Gay Car of the Year! :D

Just for reference mate, Auto Climate Control is not standard on the Lounge, it's a £250 option. Standard A/C is standard however.

Whatever spec you go for, aslong as you order around now, you should have it within 12 weeks :) Unless you go for some of the options which arn't available until upto September :)

Thanks for the info on the climate control and delivery......OMG what did I say....euro gay car of the year...LOL....just my luck...

A friend just bought a porsche Cayman S and another a BMW 5 series...it might actually be quite cool turning up to work in a 500!!!

Tell you what though, it'll turn alot of girly heads! More than a boring old bm 5 series!!!

Sorry if I'm droning....little bit pissed

Day one depreciation on the Gayman and the 5 series was for each probably greater than the cost of your 500

SO who's laughing now !

Went to Edinburgh Arnold Clark (AC) this eve for a test drive of the 1.4 sport in red....Absolutely drop dead gorgeous. My gf wants the red one now... I was set on the Azure but seeing their Azure Lounge in the metal...well it paled in comparison to the red!!

Think I'll still get the diesel though. Can't resist the idea of 70 odd mpg!!!

Just a quick question...AC wouldn't switch on their lounge spec cars as they weren't PDIed (Pre Drive Inspection) but I know that there is a different instrument cluster on the Lounge spec cars; they lack the 'sport graphics' of their sportier cousins. Anyone know what the difference is? AC couldn't tell me.

The guys I spoke to seemed a little...well....vague, mainly about delivery but one guy hadn't even heard of interscope and wasn't sure whether you could fit the red brake calipers and alloy inserts onto a lounge...(you can't it has rear drum brakes)

My better half is not bothered about the sound system but for me the standard setup is good but slightly tame.

The 1.4 is a great little drive....perhaps not as immediately responsive as I expected and a little soft in sharp corners, but just such a nice place to be and the smiles you get from people, even those hurrying home in the dark Edinburgh rush hour!!!

It looks uber cute with the white stripe...I was sold the moment I saw it, now just got to find the right dealer...

The Interscope sound system isn't available yet, but will be sometime later this year. The Red calipers are only available as an option on the 1.4, it doesn't matter which model you go for (althought you need to specify alloys on a Pop aswell).

Those are both speedos from Italian cars, I can't remember if the UK models go up in odd numbers or even.

They're definitely gonna take a while to get used to reading them... they look funky, but not particularly legible! ;)

If a salesman is switched on, he should go through the spec with you and be able to give a good idea of delivery. I insisted mine phoned Fiat UK to get my servicemans discount as the dealer was not aware of this, and nearly fell over when it was agreed by Fiat UK. '' You'll drive that car for a year and you'll still see them on the forecourts secondhand for more than I paid for it'' he quoted. I have the Panda MJ, would I have waited for it - YES.
