Hi again Im already thinking of "tinkering" with my order !!
Ive heard that some of the alloys arent available atm due to demand. Of the three 16" available (7hole, 5 0-hole and multispoke) which are the safer bet to spec so as not add delay/complications?

I thought long & hard about this.

I fancied the 421 style 16" alloys, but due to the delay plumped for the 433 style 15" wheels.

Think about the ride quality as well as the larger the wheel, the smaller the tyre side wall is, giving a harsher ride.

There is quite a difference in ride between the 15" and 16" wheels. More of a difference than I expected anyway.

Get the cheapest you can, then splash out on some tasteful after market ones, once it's arrived

That way you have something a bit more special

Get a fair bit back if you eBay the brand new wheels as well

I was suprised at the ride quality of the Sport with 16s on... it was quite noticbly hard. But it still rolled a fair bit. I think the 15s would be a better bet. My SportKa with 16s was more comfortable than the 16s on the Sport, and the Sportka had sport tuned suspension!

I've seen some aftermarket wheels that I quite fancy, they are 16s, but they would look sooo good. I might get a pair for occasional, one offs - shows etc / when I feel like being fancy!

I'll second that.

Having now driven a 1.4 with both 15" and 16" wheels, the ride is totally different.

Personally, I prefer the 15", but I'm an old git now that prefers a bit of comfort!

So whats up then with these 16'' alloys then?

I changed from 421's because I heard there was a long wait on them and now I hear the situation is the same with the Multi-spokes, does anyone know whats going on?

I've just noticed they are on the list of delayed wheels that was sent out by Fiat in December, but your order has still got a confirmed build of Week 7...

I do remember reading somewhere that Fiat have some stock of delayed options, so hopefully your car is not affected...

...just found the letter.

It states...

"Currently we have reduced availability on the following Options/Colours.

Funk White: 270
Sunroof: 400
Dualogic: 407
Alloy Wheels: 420, 421, 435 & 439"

But then seems to contradict itself by saying...

"Orders placed with the following alloy wheels will be confirmed in:
420: March
421: March/April
435: March
439: April"

...so I really don't know what the situation is!

I dont blame you for being confused, that quote doesnt make sense either. The first one states basically there is a delay on all 16'' Alloys then so reading the 2nd quote the delay is not that bad unless you have cars in the first few build weeks.

Since I want the 435's (multi-spokes) there should be hardly any delay, if any but if there is a long delay I will be screwed because I should have sold my current car by then and will probably be getting around on a bicycle
